Beware this isn't by the original author
We adore The book with no pictures by BJ Novak and thought this was by the same author. No it's another author who has imitated the original and done a very bad job of it. Poor show for an author - get your own ideas, they might then work.

Fun book to keep the children laughing
If you have read the first one, you know what you are letting yourself in for = if you haven't these books are all about the way you read them, I can have a whole year group of children in an uproar with these books yet I know someone else that cannot get a response from them. Not for a quiet reading session

Falls short of the original but my kids don't seem to mind
Let's start with the negative: This is a shameless rip off of B.J. Novak's 'Book With No Pictures' written by a different author and published by a different company, but laid out in the same way right down to the layout on the back cover. There must be some deal between the two companies that permits such a copy.Where 'The Book With No Pictures' rested on the premise that the child being read to was somehow manipulating the adult reading the book, forcing them to drop their normal sensible adult countenance and say the ridiculous things in the book, this is more of a straightforward story of two people with ridiculously long, silly names (that must be sung or rapped) meeting. The adult asides that worked so well in the original seem like an afterthought here and aren't all that relevant. The positive: My children (4 and 6) do find this really funny. They enjoy trying to say the characters' full names correctly and the song we sing to introduce the character of the princess is heard a lot around our house these last couple of weeks.Overall, it's not a patch on 'Book With No Pictures' and my adult cynicism casts a shadow over the creation of this at all, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating and my kids have devoured it repeatedly and enjoy doing so immensely.

Not a very good imitation of the book with no pictures. I wouldn't recommend it.

Good fun
Ok, elicits the same excited response as the , Book with No pictures. I prefer the original by the other author, but nice to see the concept extended in this book

Not great!
Not a very good book at all. Thought it would be like The book with no pictures but it's Avery disappointing read.
