I thought I had written a review a year ago and I guess I didn’t.The title says it all. I now have four of the Scorpion DC reels, that said I only have one HG and have found actually prefer the slower gear. I still love the High gear too. Most of my local lakes I don’t need a fast retrieve which I really would only use if I were wanting to skip a section of water. I typically cover all the water locally on every retrieval. Regardless only mistake (if there is such a thing from DC reel) I ever made was getting the Curado DC instead of the Scorpion. Definitely spend the extra $30, it’s worth every penny. I do really like the Curado and would love it if I had never used the scorpion. Scorpion DC is just a little smoother, and a little better to cast, overall the Scorpion just feels perfect. Don’t hesitate if it’s in your budget you won’t be disappointed!

Lightweight & compact. Smooth reeling. Deducted 1 star because instructions are entirely printed in Japanese......so you'll have to watch an online demo as to how to disassemble , set up, add line and adjust.I sent a message ( through Amazon Marketplace) to the vendor asking if the instructions come in English.They IMMEDIATELY responded sending me a PDF file of the instructions printed in Japanese, saying they would be most happy to assist me in translation if I would inform them which parts. I actually need ALL parts and thought maybe this service was available online to translate. Sure enough, I found Goo--- Translation will take a PDF file and translate it ( as best possible) into English. Now I do have something we can use to better make out the workings of this reel. It's not perfect ( they use YARN in place of LINE) and a few other "lost in translation" words...........but we can work around that. Between the now translated PDF document and the demonstrations people have posted on youtube we're good.

I had been wanting the scorpion dc for a while , compared to some other reels that I have , not really sure its worth that price however it looks sharp it's smooth cast far but not much farther than ones I have bought half the price and as far as the dc stopping the birds nest it does help but not as much as I had thought it would . There are reels that perform as well for a lot less price and if it's just the dc sound you want that try the shimano slx dc first under 200.00 .

I first ordered the Dc 150 but after watching a few more reviews I canceled and bought the Scorpion. I strung it mmediately with Seagars Abrazx 15lb test. Its already set for fluorocarbon so I tied on a 3/8 oz jig and set the tension loose purposefully trying to get a birds nest. Casted perfect. Consistantly dropping 40yd cast with no birds nest. I was in my yard so I was restricted and could of easily tossed it 50 yds. I definitely think this will be to my go to reel. I have comboed with a 7'3 mh Corbin Broner Battle Stix custom a young talented Rod builder out of Idaho. The looks of this reel is so much nice than the flat black Curado series.

Just amazin!!! I tested this caster with 30 pounds fluorocarbon line and it handle it like a champ. No birds nest at all. Then I change it to 15 pounds and again no problem even when casting 1/4 lures or 1/8. I highly recommend this caster over other caster in its price range. I wish I found it sooner and would had save me $800 dollars worth of casters because you only need one with a scorpion.

You can't get a better DC for the price. Cast great with no backlash. I have SLX's and Curado DC's. I wouldn't have bought them if I know about the Scorpions first. Two negatives, Shimano USA won't warranty them. So all repairs are on you and or your reel service guy. And Shimano warranties are only for one year after purchase. Second negative is no HAGANE gear. You can barely feel the difference from my Curado. Can a Scorpion beat a Metanium DC. No, only on price.

Love this reel take this over my curado DC all day ! Curado DC is great but the Scorpion DC is just more of a detailed reel and can dial in what type of line setting your throwing . Very compact easy to store and carry around . Solid reel in all . Worth the extra 20-30bucks if looking into a Curado DC , may not hold line capacity of the Curado DC being the Curado DC is a 150 series and the Scorpion DC is a 100 series reel . Still I’d say the Scorpion DC is best bang

This thing is easily the best reel I've ever owned and I've owned quite a few shimano (more expensive) reels in my lifetime.I hardly ever get any backlashes or over-runs due to the DC tech in it. If you want your reel to stand out or if you want one very few Anglers local to you will own, this is the one to get. The price point is perfect for what you're getting.

SLX DCと比較するとバス釣りならSLX DCで十分。SLX DCより良い点はラインキャパ、ドラグ性能程度。SLX DCでラインキャパが多ければ購入していない。飛距離はSLX DCと変わらない。ライントラブルはコチラの方が設定が細かいからトラブルが起こりやすい。初心者の方にはSLX DC。ソルトならスコーピオンDCが良いと思います。PEも使うならエクスセンスDCSS。スコーピオンDCは見た目や性能は良いが価格を見ると中途半端。私は気に入って使っていますが。自分でバラしてメンテ出来ない方はSLX DCで練習の方が良いでしょう。メタニウム等とは比較対象にならないのでSLX DCで比較しました。

届いた時からリールの箱がカッターで切られていたので気にはなっていたのですが、リールが壊れていなければ良いと、その時までは思っていました。DCとはいえ、バックラッシュが皆無とは思っていなかったのですが、バックラッシュしまくりです。どんなに調整しても、少しでも向かい風があるだけでバックラッシュ。ノーサミングで大丈夫と他では書かれていますが、自分のはサミングしないとほぼバックラッシュです。ルアーの重さ関係なくバックラッシュ。バックラッシュの嵐で凹〇通常直せない程の根深いバックラッシュで、20M位ラインを切るはめに。一昨日の（2019/4/29）釣りの時に、これもしかして壊れているんじゃね？と思う程でした。ただ良い所は、キャスト時の、ビュイィィ～ンと言う電子音だけですね。自分のが壊れているだけで、他のレビュアーさんの意見が本当だと思いますが、使用した感想としては、DCいらね！通常のスコーピオンで十分な気がしないでもないです。まあ、DCの音がする、普通のスコーピオンとして使用はしますがね！普通にサミングしてれば普通に使えますからね！しかし、DCの評価としては、星1つですね。音で星2を点けときます！2019/5/25追記使用ルアーは、ダブルブレードのスピナーベイト。本日改めて使用してきました。DCのライン選択切替レバーについてですが、表記は、N（ナイロン）PE（PEライン）F(フロロカーボン)の順になっていますが、自分のだとNとFの設定が逆のようで、バックラッシュ連発で、PEにしたら多少減り、Fにしたら、着水の瞬間までサミング不用でした。まあ、投げ方にもよりますが、ほぼほぼ、バックラッシュが皆無に！恐らくDC基板の組みつけに問題があると思いますが、DCの威力を垣間見た１日でした。よって、星4にさせて頂きます。-１は当然レバー表記と違う点でって事です！シマノさん、日本国内でちゃんと検品して下さい。

DCブレーキを使ってみたいけど、メタニウムやアンタレスを買うほど予算はないという消去法で買いました。「DCブレーキはバックラ知らず！」と思って適当に投げたらバックラッシュしたので、最初は戸惑いましたが、メカニカルブレーキをだいぶ緩めてセッティングをしっかり決めて投げると、DCが効きながら気持ちよくルアー が飛んでいきました！タフさもあり、80オーバーのライギョもしっかり巻き上げてこれました。

安心して投げられます。設定オートで、ほぼバックラなしです。まれに突風にあおられてダメな時はあるけど、基本的に何にも考えずに投げられます。軽めのルアーでもちゃんとDCブレーキ作動します。

北海道の磯釣り用にフロロの14blを巻いて使用しております。ロッドは8ft以上の硬めのロックフィッシュ専用ロッド。リグは、10-30gまでの直リグ、テキサス等のボトムアクション。ターゲットは30cm以上のソイ系、40cm以上のアブラコをメインとしています。◯デザインツヤのある黒に若干のラメ感あり。落ち着いたカラーでどのロッドにも合いそう。◯ハンドル回し心地はスムーズだがちょっとハンドルの長さが足りなく回収やファイト時にゴリ巻きしずらい気がする。◯DCブレーキブレーキのダイヤルをフロロの2に合わせて14gのテキサスをキャストするとバックラがほぼ起きず、ノーサミングでもいいくらいブレーキ性能がいい。なにより、前後半のラインアウトの伸びが素晴らしく飛距離がアップする。◯重さボディー自体はコンパクトでパーミングがし易いが、アルミボディのため若干見た目より重く感じる。◯バックラッシュキャスト時はほぼバックラッシュしていないが、リグ中などスプールから指を離したらフロロの弾性により勝手にバックラッシュが起きているあるある。0ブレーキの場合スプール回転の抵抗が猛烈になさすぎなので、メカニカルブレーキで調整した方がいい。◯難点北海道の0℃以下の厳しい気温下では、ガイドやレベルワインダーの凍結やラインの凍結などが発生しそれに伴いラインアウトに若干の負荷がかかることによりDCユニットが勘違いを起こしてブレーキが強くなり飛距離が著しく落ちる。また、アルミボディのためボディが冷たくなり手がやばいことに。厳冬期での使用は注意が必要である。◯DC音気持ちよく鳴り響きます。周りからなんの音だ？と注目されます。何より、シマノの最先端技術がこの値段で使える喜びがありますのでコスパが良いと思います。
