I paid £51 for this scanner in November 2022.I purchased this scanner for 2d Data Matrix barcodes - it works perfectly. You can plug-and-play on Windows 11, and even set it up to use via a virtual COM port.It comes with a booklet of setup codes that you simply scan with the scanner itself to change the scanner's settings. Very easy to use and setup.

The Tera HW0006 barcode scanner is very easy to use right out of the box with zero or little set up required! The build quality is top notch and the scanner feels good in the hand. The scanner can be charged either with the supplied USB cable or with the docking station.The scanner can be used with Windows, iOS, Android and can communicate via Bluetooth, USB cable or the supplied dongle. Different modes of operation are easily programmed by QR codes found in the users manual, you simply need to point the scanner at the required QR code and the unit is set.The handset can store barcodes onboard (Up to 50,000) and these barcodes can then dumped into a word document on the PC simply by scanning the ‘Upload Data’ QR code in the manual. Barcodes are automatically uploaded to the word document open on screen and no extra software is required.The handset can be set (Via QR code again) to upload barcodes directly to your computer as they are scanned by the unit.The scanner is powered up by pressing the trigger and the unit will bleep twice, it will also let you know when the barcode has been read and will turn itself off when left unused for a few minutes saving battery life. The on-board screen is clear and easy to read and shows details of barcodes stored, the barcode number, the total amount of codes read, battery life, connection mode and time.Barcodes can be taken either by pulling the trigger for single scans or a continuous mode can be selected whereby the scanner takes data each time it can see a barcode held in front of it.Data stored on the handset can be uploaded via Bluetooth, USB cable or the dongle that comes with the unit. No extra software is required and the handset has a standby time of 30 days.If your business requires a barcode reader that is easy to use with a very simple learning curve then you should give the Tera HW0006 a look, I was using it to scan codes right out of the box without even looking at the user manual! Programming is simple, just find the QR code in the manual, scan it and it is programmed in seconds, if I can do it anyone can. If you need to input barcodes into a computer this scanner makes it easier and more accurate than inputting the codes by hand.Materials used are of high quality and the scanner feels comfortable in the hand. I could not find any sharp edges or moulding marks on the unit and it feels substantial, the stand that comes with it is heavy, well built and has rubber feet and can be used to charge the handset too. The base has two USB connectors, one is the standard A type along with a B type for the supplied A to B USB cable.In the box you will find the scanner unit, the base, a USB cable, the dongle and a user manual with all of the programming QR codes along with other details of the scanner. I recommend this scanner for easy, accurate entry of barcodes into computers or other devices and I will be making considerable use of this one in the future.

This scanner is solid and has a bright screen and feels like it's going to be an absolute winner.A massive fault is that the red light does not indicate where the scanner is reading.When using the scanner in storage mode, theres a barcode for upload data, an intentional gap (but probably not wise that they are together) and then the barcode to clear your stored data.Yes, you guessed it, at the end of a long days work, your business depending on the data it has collected, you very definitely scan the barcode for upload data (it glows red, theres not mistaking where you're pointing it and you drag the red beam down towards it to ensure you're not going to misfire the inch too low) and the scanner decides to read the barcode that wipes your whole days work!Utterly mortifying!This same difficulty in pin pointing where the scanner is scanning is also an issue for our work orders that contain both a barcode and QR codes. Never fear, you can turn off the barcode function and just have it read QR (or vice versa) but then when you want to clear the data, you have to switch it back to read all mode as there are only barcodes for clearing data rather than QR codes so it's really fiddly, the settings often stick and you have to wait for it to turn off and on again before it will save your changes.I don't know what the answer is but not this scanner.i've also had issues with pairing, other settings not accepting commands and being a bit sticky, hate them.

I now have two Tera barcode scanners, one with and one without a display. I prefer the one with the display as it makes it possible to check that the item has scanned in correctly. However I am very pleased with the performance of both of them.The manufacturers, Tera Digital have been very reliable and helpful so I wouldn't hesitate to buy their products again, especially since they come with a three year warranty (activated by emailing the company).My only point of warning is that each scanner needs a separate dongle (included with the scanner) if you want to connect it to the computer. This just means you need to have sufficient spare USB ports on your PC or laptop.

Was so excited about the scanner, it did everything perfectly, then when it came to transferring the data to my computer the software was in Chinese. Says you can change the language, but you gotta figure out where to do that as its all in Chinese and several pages keep popping up, all in Chinese. Tried Google translater and still cannot find the option. I have lost days as my project is stuck, and do not want to manually copy barcode numbers as it easy to error. If the seller cannot provide an immediate solution, am going to have to return this item and claim my money back. Its unfortunate sellers buy Chinese products and put them on the market without consideration its an English market. Very frustrating esp since time costs money in the supplychain. The customer should not have to go through the inconvenience of figuring out a product. There is no instruction or mention of the fact its chinese software anywhere on the listing or manual too. Am very disappointed.

Happy with the product, was hoping for a little open source capabilities which do not exist, but definitely worth the money

I ordered one of these before different model and it is spot on, purchased a smaller one but does not work with ShipStation so bought this one on special instead and works perfectly
