Want a great reel for the surf?You can't do much better than the slammer dx.This is the kind of reel that should last you for years.Mine came with plenty off good luck too I've already caught over two dozen fish with it.Not bad for having it just over two weeks.IPX 6 sealing should keep the salt and moisture out of your gears and the upgraded stainless steel main gear gives you all the power and durability you'll ever need.I'll be fishing this reel for years and years to come.

Love this reel!
Ive purchased cheaper reels in the past an have to replace every year. This time I decided to get something nice and say it makes all the difference! Reel is very smooth. I also fish with a Daiwa Saltist MQ and love these both the same.

Noisy roller barring
The roller barring is making a strange noise. Only used it once. Seems like bad quality.

After fishing every day for a week with the Slammer IV 4500 DX it is now my go-to reel and definitely the smotest reel I own. I have it topping off a 7-foot Ugly Styx, and this combo will handle ANYTHING swimming in The Great Lakes.
