Fashion good but not what I was expecting in a Smartwatch for its limitations. I returned it.

Super beautiful. Substantial weight. Sadly arrived DOA. Will neither charge nor turn on. Have requested replacement and will update this review if the replacement is functional.UPDATE.... 08/16/2023 The replacement arrived and was also Dead on Arrival and would not charge even when left on the charger puck overnight. Both are now returned.

So, I bought this last June and started wearing it. I've got a mechanical that looks similar, but I ended up wearing this watch pretty much anywhere but in water. Running, working out, etc. Love it. It looks great, like some sort of mechanical timepiece, but has smart functions. I got lots of unsolicited compliments on this watch. And even though the media controls were kind of temperamental, I really liked it.It charges using the special socket with two pogo pins going up into the watch. You can see on the left what it's supposed to look like as the watch charges, but that charge level isn't moving up anymore. Over the past month, I've cleaned the pins, cleaned the underside and the contact points where the pins go, rebooted the watch. I was always able to find some trick to make it charge, but nothing's working today. I've contacted the company.

This is a beautiful, sturdy watch with a nice assortment of faces. As a watch, great! However, the smart watch functions use simplified versions of smart phone apps that, in combination with the tiny display, just don't work well for me. Charging also requires the proprietary charging dock that I'm constantly forgetting to take with me on trips. It would be nice to have a Micro-USB jack on the watch, but trying to make that water resistant would probably be too difficult.The case and band are smooth and well made. Basic watch functions are easy to use. The watch is a little heavy, but otherwise comfortable. It looks fantastic! If only I could make better use of the "smart" functions.Recommended, if you like smart watches. This is my second smartwatch. I had a Fossil Marshal Q before and I find this one more refined and with a better display. For one it does not have the "flat tire" feature (i.e . the lower part of the screen not being a screen). Android Wear is getting better albeit slowly and this watch has the latest version. Battery life is more than adequate for my use (I get notifications from a few apps but they are not of the torrential kind). By the end of the day I have more than half the battery still left.I wish that the charger was more like the one on the Fossil phone though. On that one you just had to place the phone on the charging pad and did not have to align it. For the Guess watch you need to align the electrode on the phone with the electrodes on the pad. It's not a major issue but needs some getting used to.

This mens SS android watch by Guess is very nice. I have it paired to my android phone and am starting to appreciate the conveniences of a smart watch. The case is big and bold, the strap is very comfortable. Set up was easy. I really do like the charger, it just magnetically snaps onto the back. Im not constantly on my watch so the battery lasts a day or two for me. My only very minor complaint is that many of the watch dials are feminine, and more geared towards women. But that can be solved by downloading 3rd party watch faces. I don't think android wear is at the same level of iwatch, especially in its user interface and apps. Overall its a good watch and very well built. The display is clean and sharp. I wish it had a heart rate monitor instead of only a step counter.

I've reviewed a half-dozen "smart watches" for the Amazon Vine Program, but this one takes top spot now. I'll tell you why...Now, for starters, it took a good 30 minutes of "updating" as the watch requires the Google Wear app, and the app AND the watch must both be updated via wi-fi to start using the watch. At first I was a little put out that I needed to update a brand new watch, but then I reminded myself that in the modern world of computers and electronics that computers and phones OFTEN must be updated before using. I mention it only because if you're planning to start enjoying and using right out of the box well.... no, that's not going to happen.Now to the watch:It looks great - like a GUESS watch, or I guess I should say like SEVERAL guess watches because it's easy to change the watch face to many different looks. The textured silicon band stays the same, looking like a tightly woven hemp, but the face can be cycled through multiple different "looks." In short: the watch looks terrific.Now the function: since the watch LOOKS like several other GUESS watches with prices at half or less, it better have a few "extra" features.It does.Through syncing with the phone app the watch gives you all the notifications you'd like. Texts.... weather... sports scores.... facebook messages. Also my wrist gentle vibrates when there is an incoming notification or phone call. I work as an OB/GYN and it is quite handy to be in one room with a patient and get updates from Labor and Delivery that I can glance and read without interrupting the patient I'm seeing at the moment.Through the Google Fit app it also counts my steps and calories, and the app keeps a running tally.
