not the best value in the end
worked for a while but one part went faulty and I needed to replace the complete unit, not the best value in the end.

Great for Solar panels
Bought this one to replace one that went wrong after 5 years. So hopefully this one lasts as long. Seems to be ok. Delivered as promised and on time. Would recommend this to use with pv panels. Shows how much the system is generating. Only niggle was that the batteries were very old as had to replace them in both units within about 4 weeks. Hopefully that is the only problem.

Nice device, works well.
Very simple setup, got a display within a few minutes of opening the box and putting the batteries in. I then went round the house turning things off and on to see the effect. Easy to enter the cost data as well although the figures that result are quite frightening.... but that's nothing to do with the Eco-eye!! I've now also purchased some remote controlled sockets so I can turn off the TV etc during the day and at night when not in use as the Eco-eye does show how much power these this use in standby mode.

Neat Gizmo!
I have had an Eco Eye Elite for a few months. Fascinating! I wanted to know how much electricity my house was using because I am thinking about getting a windmill. I use the Eco-Eye to tell me what my electricity consumption is from minute to minute. I have the Eco-Eye on top of the TV so I can see it all the time. The biggest surprise was the pump on my gas central heating boiler, I had never thought of that using electricity but it uses about 250 watts continuously like the fridge and the fridge/freezer. Between them these three are the base load of the house. The 9kw shower is just a spike and not significant. As for the appliances on standby, they don't even register! The technical details: the Eco Eye has two parts basically the transmitter fits on the mains wire as it comes into the fuse box and transmits details of the electricity coming through the wire. It uses wireless to send to the display unit. Very simple, it either works or it doesn't. You do have to keep feeding it batteries, my wife says they cost more than any money it saves on electricity! She is right!
