Long but thorough review....We bought 2 of these bumpers to transition a 3 year old from a crib to a queen sized bed. Based on other reviews and a lightning deal price, we decided to give it a go. Overall, they have been very useful and function as described. I panicked slightly at how wrinkly and smashed they seemed from the packaging, but given a day to totally fluff out, they look great and just like other people's photos. Based on other complaints of them sliding, I chose to safety pin them to her bed. Having had to sleep in her bed a couple of times, they don't move with this extra reinforcement. I wouldn't call these waterproof as there are small holes from the the thread being sewn in the base of the bumper; we used an old mattress encasement, bumpers safety pinned to the protector/mattress, then a waterproof mattress protector over the whole thing. This system has been working for us for the last month; no issues with slipping during the night or awkward changing sheets each week. These bumpers are hard enough to not collapse but soft enough for an adult or a child to roll against or sleep next to. All in all, if you're on the fence, go for it. It's not a traditional bed rail, but it's a great alternative and tool for transitioning from a crib to a bed.

Needing something smaller than a toddler rail because my child does not sleep without moving all night long. Didn’t want his toddler rail anymore and definitely couldn’t go without anything as he rolled a couple times off his low bed. This did take a while to air up, make sure you unzip the whole thing but don’t take off the cover. It does have a very strong smell. I kept it around my air purifier for a couple of days and that seemed to help. Definitely need some deep pocket sheets to have it fit under them. It does not slide much with nothing underneath it and laying directly onto crib mattress.

I know that some of the reviews say that their rail slipped, but ours didn't once we put it under the mattress pad. My little girl loves to lay her head on it and use it as a pillow. She can get over it and get out of bed, so if you're looking for something to keep them in the bed, this isn't it. However, it does keep her from rolling out in the middle of the night. We have it on a twin bed. It's not as long as the bed, but it takes up most of the side. There's no way I'd be able to squish this thing up and get it back in the travel bag, but I wouldn't mind throwing it in the car for vacation. It was super easy to get in place!

Pretty sturdy foam so I don't think you could really do more than fold it in half once it's out of the bag.Provides enough of a barrier to help a kid not roll out of bed accidentally. Don't know if I would trust it on a top bunk.Big enough that it didn't fit under the snug crib sheet.

This bumper is exactly what we needed. We have the Babyletto Hudson 3-in-1 Convertible Crib that converts to a toddler bed. Unfortunately, because the guard rail that comes with that conversion only covers about a third of the opening AND becuase our 2 year old moves around a lot while she sleeps (she's not the best sleeper to say the least), she kept falling/sliding out constantly. I looked and looked for a guard rail that would fit to no avail until I finally came across this product. It fits it perfectly and it leaves enough room still for her to have plenty of space (width) in her crib to sleep comfortably. It has stopped her from sliding out of the bed altogether. She still wakes but no longer because she's on the floor. If she does wake enough to leave her bed she has to put some effort to go climb over it. Also to note, I did not put it under the sheets of the crib because they are already a tight fit to begin so she is able to kick it off if she puts enough effort but that is ok because at that point she is wide awake. This does the job that it's intended to do which is keep her in while sleeping. I did not have the issue of the wrinkling that the others mentioned in their reviews. Very happy with this product!

This did exactly what it was supposed to. Slipped it right under the fitted sheet and it keeps my two year old safe in her big girl bed all night long. It can slide around a little if you bump it with too much force. A toddler is not going to push it off in the middle of the night, though. Easy to install, fits back into the case it comes in & has a waterproof cover over it that you can wash.

The grip is not strong, which causes it to always move out of place. Especially as kid goesbin and out of bed. Every night I have to push it back into place. A better grip would make this better. Otherwise does the job and keeps kid safe and no more falling.

I was neveous because some reviews said this was not sturdy enough, I placed it under the sheet and pushed my 300 pound body against it and still stayed so that is saying alot lol. I got this as a backup because I was staying at a hotel and my daughter is 2.5 but still in crib at home and wasn't sure she would be OK in pack n play because she is 35 tall and they are only 38 inched long. So I ended up using this on the king bed in hotel room. Parents with toddlers to big for travel crib but still need to be contained buy this! It was a life saver.
