Not for me at first but like it now!
This is my updated review of the lavender soap bar! At first I didn't like it very much and had not bought bar soap for many years using only liquid soap for face, hands and body. I have tried this and a few others that are similar in price (or even more expensive) and it's growing on me now. The reviews of this soap are basically good and I can see now why they are. My skin has not been dry after using this and I did test it by not using any lotion on my body which I normally do every night after a shower. I also used it to hand wash some underwear and it was quite good. The lavender fragrance is not too strong for those who want to have the smell linger afterwards. As I said in my first review this bar is rather large and a bit awkward at first. I found it slipping out of my hands but am using a washcloth now to prevent this from happening. I did want to revise my first negative review for people like myself who do read them before buying something they're not familiar with online! The original version was: This is the first soap bar that I have purchased in many years - I use bath and shower gel and liquid face soap. I thought I would try something different and since this had many good reviews and I like the smell of lavender I bought it. I recently noticed that my skin was looking 'thin' and I attributed this to the many showers using a washcloth on my skin with the liquid soap. My skin is normally dry (bar soap has always been drying to me and I do apply moisturizer after every shower) and this one didn't feel dry right after using it which I did like. The bar is large and should last a long time but it does get slippery when it gets wet and slides off the built in soap bar in the shower and it's somewhat awkward to hold on to. The lavender smell is not so strong and it really doesn't have any scent unless you put your nose on top of the bar before it gets wet. As for the price of this soap I think it's a little too high and possibly because of the name L'Occitane and the fact that it's made in France the way it is described. I'm not sorry I bought this and will use it eventually, perhaps for some hand washing of delicates. I will say this soap lathers very well!

It's a much better deal than you might think
I typically used to use the small bars of soap you can buy in any drug store or supermarket. I never considered buying two bars of soap for $10 like this deal from L'Occitane because I could get six bars for about $6-7 in a pack at the local stores. After trying L'Occ at a friends house, I decided to splurge though and I came accross this deal at Amazon. To my surprise, this turned out to be a much better deal than I originaly thought it could be. The bars are much bigger than the soap bars I had been buying, so that in itself made the deal a little better for me, but the bargain gets better. The bars are large and simply shaped, the soap is also very hard and dense compared to the typical name brands I had been buying. This is where the L'Occ really stands out for being a much better bargain than I thought. Since the bars are large, they maintain their shape much longer than small bars do. This as it turns out keeps the bar useable far longer than my old soap bars because they don't turn in to slivers so fast. Another issue I always had with my old soaps was that the soap itself was whipped, when I would get to about the halfway point they would begin to absorb too much water and split in to slivers or the top layer would slough off. The L'Occ bars are dense and don't seem to be whipped because they do not split or form that super squishy layer on the outer surface. The net result is that where we used to use 2-3 bars of soap a week, we now use one bar of the L'Occ every three weeks. And we haven't even gotten to the best part yet. The lavender scent is comparable to Yardley's, which I like the most. It doesn't have the rotting wood scent of some natural lavender products not does it have the hint of burnt sugar smell that bulk artificial lavender scents seem to have. It leaves a nice hint of lavender scent on the body for about an hour or so, not the longest lasting scent but I don't mind that. All in all, a far better deal than I ever thought.

Best Soap Bars
I have tried every soap bar under the sun and even some that came from the sea. These are the best. Great for skin, last forever and leave your skin feeling clean but not dry.I bought these from Amazon for the two day shipping but I have purchased them from the site and they usually give you free samples when you do that.I have also bought them from their stores. I was once in an airport and had forgotten to pack soap so I stopped in and the lady ended up selling me a bunch of stuff. They are a luxury brand no doubt and their prices are high, but the products are excellent and they last.I once went into a local store to return an unused cologne and the lady behind the counter was just rude. She was more interested in her teacup poodle getting its lunch then dealing with me. She even refused to return the item for some weird reason I can't remember. I contacted corporate and they sent me a bottle of the cologne I wanted. Good to know customer service takes care of the customer.Anyways, all that to say these are the best soap bars on the planet. My only small gripes are that I wish they offered exfoliating bars, bigger travel size bars and more scents in the full size bars, especially some manly scents like a sandalwood. But I am nitpicking.

If u like to pamper urself and have a spa like experience at home use this soap which shall make ur skin feel so soft with lingering lavender fragrance for long. I use all Loocitane products bit expensive but totally worth it.
