Awesome cooker. Perfect size and keeps drinks cold for days.
I load it with drinks and take to the horse barn for cold ones after we ride.

Great size and sturdy
Super high quality, love the handle that locks up or down with padding. I like that it has a drain. It doubles as a seat. The colors are awesome! Great value considering how pricey coolers can get. This is the perfect size for a kayak trip!

My New Go-To Cooler
This cooler is the perfect size for most of my uses, with good roto molded type cooler performance. Especially great on road trips. My Roadie was my previous favorite that this unit replaced, as the Yeti has no drain plug. Not a huge deal, but enough of an annoyance to make this my everyday choice now as it does have a great drain plug that doesn’t leak.

Good (not great) Ice Retention
First of all, let me say this is a good looking and well-crafted cooler. Everything fits and it appears to close tight. How much you can fit in it is determined by the size and shape of the container. But, I believe 12 cans is realistic, in almost any case. I like the color, but now wish I had gone with granite. I am fearful the rich turquoise might fade in the sun. We will see. The handle seems sturdy. One review suggested that the screws on the handle are prone to loosening. I don’t see any indication of that. MOST IMPORTANT….The moment I took delivery on the cooler, I put a ten pound bag of ice in it and closed it tight. After 48 hours of sitting in our bathtub, about 90% of the ice had melted. I can only imagine in the hot sun that it would melt faster. I can’t imagine ice lasting more than about 60 hours, under any conditions. I see no way anyone could get 4-5 days. My old 7 year-old roto-molded Meadowcraft cooler, the first Yeti clone I ever saw, will keep ice for more than 4 days, inside the house. If 36-48 hours of ice retention is adequate for you, I would recommend this cooler. The price is certainly right. But, if you are looking for more cooling longevity, keep looking. I wanted this cooler to be better in terms of retention. Maybe as the seals soften, ice will last longer.

Terribly heavy
Feels like you’re lugging 2 full milk gallons in one hand, even when it’s empty. But the upside to the heavy weight is you know that increases its durability.Another nuisance is you always need to keep it directed opening side out, while carrying due to the rubber hasps getting caught on your leg if you don’t.The handle is quite difficult to move past the bumps that keep it somewhat locked upright, you definitely need to use two hands to move it into or out of the ‘locked’ position. This makes me wish it had a small luggage like handle that was attached to the lid (this would eliminate the need to use two hands to adjust the position). For how much this thing costs, it should have both (2) handles.
