This is a great option for holding a mini (25 key) midi-controller or keyboard. I have it in my home studio and it's set at it's highest setting which provides a narrow top for the little keyboard/midi controller. At this height, it's slightly higher than my desk, but still works well for me and hold the midi-controller perfectly. It arrived lightning fast from Amazon, well packed and perfect condition. The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is that the base of the stand isn't perfectly level so it wobbles a little. Pretty annoying if you're trying to lay down a drum track and the thing is wobbling around. This is easily fixed with about 3 or 4 business cards under one of the feet. Certainly not a deal-breaker, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. Despite this, it's very well made and sturdy. I'm 5' 9" and could probably stand and play this comfortably at it's highest (and narrowest) setting. I would NOT put a 49 key controller (or larger) keyboard on this stand at its tallest setting unless you enjoy picking your keyboard up off the floor after playing a high or low note!

Perfect for a small MIDI controller or keyboard (61 keys or less)
I recently bought a midi controller (ended up with the acorn masterkey 61 after buying an oxygen 61 which was DOA). I was shocked at how small and thin the controller is which is great because I have a fairly tight space for my music equipment! (the oxygen was small and fairly thin as well). I had an existing X stand that I planned to use for the controller pictured here:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002ZO3OM/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0002ZO3OM&linkCode=as2&tag=emdwf-20However, the stand I had was WAY too big! This controller sits against my wall and my existing stand protruded VERY far from the wall and the keyboard only took up HALF of the stand's surface!I ordered this "mini" stand not knowing what to expect (I couldn't quite figure out what parts of the stand the dimensions were measured from.)The stand is PERFECT! It sticks out just under 10 inches from the wall (the controller is 8 inches deep- PERFECT! and the height is adjustable. I've got it right on the middle notch which is about 25 inches from the ground. I couldn't be happier with my purchase! It saves some serious space!

great for piaggero 61 key
Great for Yamaha piaggero, for sitting at least . The length of the support rods are exactly the depth of the piaggero which is narrow. The lightweight keyboard sits solid on top even at its most narrow setting, though it sticks out a lot on the ends. The 61 key would be perfect, but I have the 76 key version and for sitting height it's perfect for travel. Well built and solid. But Standing you need to be 5 feet like me for it to work.

A good quality stand for smaller keyboards or midi controllers
A good quality stand and perfect height when sitting at the keyboard. The only issue I have is that its footprint is too small for my 88 key midicontroller to sit on it without moving when I play.

I had to twist the legs pretty hard to get it it sit straight
Legs were wonky straight out of the box. I had to twist the legs pretty hard to get it it sit straight. It's not 100% straight but good enough that I didn't want to mess with the hassle of returning it. I'd probably try to source one locally next time or buy a more expensive stand. The height was fine for my needs as I was purchasing this for my child. I wouldn't recommend this for an adult.
