The wait is over!
I'm so glad this series is finally released in English! I just received it today, and oh man... the book looks great it person. There's a few color pages that look really nice, with the last color page showing showing Momo in her common one-shirt-only pj's. Also, the pages are uncensored (as far as ecchi anime/manga goes), which helps with PLOT immersion. Volume 1 contains chapters 0 to 4, and the book is a bit smaller in size compared to Yen Press and Viz Media manga. The third season of anime covers the first Darkness volume page by page, as far as I can tell, so I don't think there's anything new story-wise for the anime viewers. If you're a fan of To Love Ru, you should definitely add this manga to your collection! For newcomers, be WARNED: To Love Ru Darkness has a LOT of fan service (which is the most I've seen in ecchi anime/manga).

Momo and Myrna Minkoff would have hit it off quite well
I recently read the first omnibus volume of To Love Ru when it came out and I decided to see what its co-series is like. I will admit that I was a bit handicapped; it was obvious that more characters joined the original series since the opener. Fortunately, there was a two page spread that updated a new reader. There is still the triangle of Rito, his human love Haruna, and Lala, the alien princess who thinks Rito wants her and she went so far as to move in with him. We learn that Lala's two sisters, Momo and Nana have joined her, along with another girl, Yami, also known as Golden Darkness. Lala is mostly a supporting player in this series. Momo is the big instigator, wanting Rito to take over her father's throne and once that's done, he's eligible to build a harem, which suits Momo just fine as she shares her sister's attraction to Rito. Momo reminded me of Myrna Minkoff, a character in John Kennedy Toole's classic A Confederacy of Dunces. Myrna believed that the solution to most of the world's problems was more and better sex for everyone. Momo's harem notions, not to mention the heavy fan service here, makes me think Momo and Myrna would have gotten along very well (and they could spend a lot of time consoling each other when their grand ideas don't quite work out, which is often). I think I will be following both I Love Ru and Darkness as they are proving enjoyable.
