I got my cup 2 days ago and this is now my favourite coffee cup ever. The design is function and aesthetically awesome. The design is very thoughtful and plain amazing. Here is what I love:- Shape, material and texture with the wood handle, everything is so beautiful and industrial looking.- Love the charcoal color similar to cast iron.- Cup has slight weight which make holding the cup a joy. There is a great balance when you have the coffee in the cup.- Handle is ergonomic and your thumb goes right over the handle perfectly. Also the wooden handle gives it a softer and everlasting appeal -- love the wood fusion. Just make sure to lightly oil the handle if you want to make it last longer, just like the instructions suggests.- Lastly, like the last reviewer said -- way the coffee leave the cup while sipping is just perfect.All around money well spent if you love your coffee and like a fantastic cup to cherish the whole experience. Its a bit expensive but treat yourself - you are worth it. Its like having an expensive Scotch/Wishkey glass for your drinks, no different in my mind.I actually remember emailing the designer 2 years ago when it was not available on Amazon and he said it would cost me additional shipping from Japan so I did not buy it back then. But always had my eye on this and glad its now available on Amazon. Love it and much kudos to the designer for a perfect balance of form and function on this cup.

I was initially captivated by the exquisite appearance and tactile experience of these mugs, prompting me to purchase a set of four. Unfortunately, I must express my disappointment as each and every one of them has succumbed to chipping along the brim. Astonishingly delicate, these mugs prove to be highly susceptible to even the slightest contact, resulting in unsightly chips. Regrettably, their fragility renders them unfit for regular use or any form of handling that falls short of treating them as precious relics of a bygone era. Despite exercising utmost caution during washing and storage, these mugs chipped with disheartening ease. Considering the steep price tag of $60 for a set of four, I strongly advise against investing in these fragile vessels. Alas, my once-promising $240 collection now stands as a testament to their brittleness.

My mug broke while hand washing. I loved it, but it broke off in my hand while using a sponge, soap and hot water.

Bought this as a gift for one of my best buds who is a coffee aficionado, the dude literally calibrates his very high-end espresso machine to the very high-end beans and Roaster notes. He's also a very successful UX/UI professional with a superb eye for design as it relates to form, function and human factors. I asked him to be brutally honest and he told me the mug is a 5/5. If you value esoteric design and quality (or if you know someone who does), this is a great gift.

Outrageously expensive but so gorgeous. And ergonomic as hell. Bought them as a gift for a serious coffee lover (my husband, luckily) I never want to drink coffee out of any other cup.

**update**After 6 months of pampered use, using my mug about 150 times, it mysteriously broke. It was sitting under my coffeemaker being filled with coffee, when it suddenly cracked in about 5 pieces and fell apart, spilling coffee everywhere. I wasnt even touching it when it happened. I've always been super careful, always hand washed it. I suspect that the material (ceramic?) became brittle over time after getting hot from coffee and then cooling down, over and over. Eventually the material weakened and just shattered. I could rub the broken pieces between my fingers and feel it crumbling like sand... flaw in the material? Be wary. It's beautiful but gets weak over time.***I splurged and bought this to use at the office. It's awesome. People look at it and I can tell they're interested but are too shy/etc to comment. It's a very masculine, yet understated piece of art. (Note: I also own a $60 brass bottle opener, so I obviously make questionable decisions.

Stylish warm coffee or tea mug. Well crafted.

I purchased 3 of these mugs in 2018. Two of the three mugs have become chipped unexplainably. They are lovely to grip and got used well.
