Flimsy but cute for Octonaut fans
I’ll start off saying the consistency of clutch power (grip) between pieces is the best I’ve felt in a non name brand (rhymes with eggo) building block brand. It’s almost as good as the name brand…..sometimes. Other times they fall apart too easily, but not as often as other knock offs.My main issue is that this set is clearly designed for kids to play with. However, the wheels fall off pretty easily (causing the track to come off), the rotating turret (that holds the main red ship to the grey square bottom section with the tracks) falls apart easily, and the rear doors the open like a clam to hold the smaller ship fall apart easily. Overall, the design is lacking some extra sturdiness/building methodology needed to be a play set. As a display set it works well. Luckily the mini-figures are great and lots of fun for kids.

Missing a peice :'(, but still really cool.
This set is really cute. The bricks are Lego-compatible and the plastic quality feels great. The bricks push together nicely and hold fast with good tolerances. The instructions were super clear, and the pieces are kept in numbered bags that are logically ordered. You will never be overwhelmed with too many pieces at once.Overall, I would give it 5/5 stars, BUT I must dock 1 star - I was missing a piece. The top is supposed to have four quarter-circle red color pieces. My set only came with 3 of the four required. Interestingly, it did have an extra 3x3 slant brick, so maybe a mix-up at the factory? In order to finish the set, I borrowed two beige quarter-circle pieces from another set I had. (I was only missing one, but I borrowed two, so it could be symmetrical in my pictures).I double and triple checked the box and bags the bricks came in to make sure the brick wasn't left in the box or something, but it is completely MIA. Because of the extra 3x3 slant brick, I suspect it was probably a factory mix up.Oh well, we'll have to see if further Amazon reviews have the same problem, or just me. Outside the missing piece, however, it was a cool / well designed kit.

You OctoNAUT Pass This Up
My Children love octonauts, so I knew I had to get this when I saw it. The set is remarkably big for the price. As other reviews have indicated, they do work with legos. If you have never purchased off-brand legos before, there is a slight quality difference. The longevity of them is not as reliable. However, they are way better than they ever used to be. For example, unlike the old "megablocks" these will actually stay connected once you build with them and the design of the builds are far superior to what they used to be. If you were getting this to sit on a shelf, it will probably last you forever. If your children are going to be playing with it, regularly, expect for it to slowly be a little less reliable in its ability to stay connected (over time). But you'll definitely get a long times worth of play out of it, especially for the price.

Tiny pieces & Instructions in Mandarin
These are tiny pieces, and since instructions are in Mandarin, it was impossible for us to put it together. We have many Lego sets, which are much easier to put together. If you like putting hundreds of tiny pieces together, and are fluent in written Mandarin, then this is for you!

Quite fun build
We do a lot of brick builds at our house and this one was a great addition. The octonauts are a favorite of our children and that would have seemed reason enough to get this set. It is really a good looking set. The build is not difficult and the instructions are really easy to follow. I like how they make the existing build look transparent compared to the pieces being added to it. That makes it really easy to see what comes next, especially when the same color is being layered on.My only complaint is that there about three places where the structure is not terribly stable. Notably, the moving parts are easily separated from the build.

Could have done with being a little more robust
Considering this is a model aimed at toddlers, since it's based on a kids show, it could have been built a little bit more tough. The two weakest points are the lid and the units attachment to the base.Otherwise it was very close to a name brand experience. The blocks actually fit together with good tolerances and quality was present.Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The packaging was not all that in English, but looked of very high quality as well.

Fun activity for kids
These are such a fun activities for kids to build. The quality of the blocks are great. The final product is very cute. However, I would suggest this for kids 7 years old or older. My 5 year old nephew needed a lot of help to get this done. Overall this is a good building set for kids.

Kids loved playing with and putting this together
Our 8 year old had a blast putting this together. He doesn't usually stick with long hard projects very long, but he patiently stuck to this one and put it together all by himself, only using the included instructions. Our 6 year old and 8 year old both loved playing with it once built. It is pretty impressive with it's feature set. The little car that stores inside the bigger vessel, and the vessel moves on the tracks and rotates. The top lid/roof of the vessel opens to insert and remove characters. Whoever designed this did a good job and the kids had a blast working on it and playing with it and they definitely consider it as one of their prized possessions now. Solid recommendation!
