Gun Casket Fast Opening Shotgun Safe (Electronic - Black)

This is a great case but small. It is well constructed and the punch keys work well. Unfortunately, I purchased it to store a tactical shotgun (pistol grip) and it does not fit at all. I can't return as I drilled holes through the back and mounted it on my wall before I brought home my shotgun (there is a lesson there). If you have any added accessories to your rifle, look elsewhere. I need to keep it as I altered it which is a bummers. Will be adding a 20 gauge with no accessories so will use it for that purpose. Again, keep looking if you have anything tactical (including scopes) on your rifle.

The good: Loved the durability, compactness (more on this later), ease of programming codes, ability to bolt on to studs, etc.The bad: COMPACTNESS - too small width-wise to carry a tactical shotgun or any long gun with a pistol grip. TACTICAL SHOTGUN OWNERS TAKE NOTE.Overall - Good for the money. It won't stand up to theft... if someone wants the box, they're going to get the box. But as far as keeping your firearms away form the little ones, it certainly will do that. If they made this a bit wider, I'd 5 star this review, but since it's made for a hunting setup ONLY, 4 it is.

Too small for intended use. Cost is too high for product. It is aluminum extrusion, like gutters on a house.

This is a nice shotgun safe for the money! Fit my shotgun and extra shells easily. Was easy to program with my own combination, and looks sturdy enough to keep my grandchildren's prying fingers from opening. I feel much more secure knowing that my shotgun is close enough if I need to get to it, but protected from inquisitive little grandchildren who may discover a case but not be able to open it. Yes, someone could run off with the whole case, or break it open if they really wanted to open it, but I purchased it to keep my grandchildren safe. I can always get another gun.

Works well. Easy to use and set up. Quick access. Reasonable price.It would be nice if there was a light source (backlit keypad) or some way to see buttons in the dark. I would pay more for such an option.----------------------Update June 2016After owning this for almost 3 years, the lock mechanism no longer works. I probably have only opened the case less than 50 times. I have changed out the batteries, but still it doesn't work. After punching in the code, I can hear the mechanism trying to unlock, however it does not unlock. Now I must use the key to unlock the safe.The return policy is only good for 30 days.Very dissatisfied and disappointed.

Ordered this and unfortunately it went missing with UPS. Amazon customer service was awesome, got another one out to my right away and overnight with no charge. I have a shot gun for home defense and this fits my gun easily with some extra room for a bag of spare keys, my checkbook and my passport. I feel more secure knowing my gun is locked up and I am the only one with the passcode. Also has the option to lock it with keys if you prefer.

I thought this safe was perfect for what I needed. It's pretty small and fits easily under the bed, which allows me to store my gun loaded without worrying about my kids getting to it. If I had a gripe, it would be that the keypad is not backlit, but that's not too big a deal. It's fairly easy to program a code that you can easily open by feel without seeing the keys. Otherwise, I thought the quality seems excellent.

I really, really like this. The electric combination buttons and the keyed mechanical back-up give a lot of piece of mind and it is really solid. I will certainly be looking to buy at least three more.
