Buy the protection plan offered by Amazon with this turnatable
I thought my search was over when I purchased the Hym Seed. I wanted a well built, quality, yet compact unit to play my vinyl on.I paid more for the dark walnut colored wood unit with a black speaker cover (as shown in the seller's product description) than other models being offered on Amazon. What I received was a light Blonde wood unit with a grey speaker cover. Unfortunately, I was not even able to power on the unit! It may have been a faulty power cord or the turntable itself is faulty. I began to research the company. I tried to contact them via email only to have my email returned as their contact info is not valid. This is a new product from a company financed through kick starter. When I read through the hundreds of reviews on kick starter about this expensive turntable, I realized there are many many problems occurring with other units. Other reviews mentioned tracking issues, needle jumping, wireless not working, and some of them just shutting down never to come back on. I really like the design of the turntable, it is a solid unit, BUT it is also very expensive. It was something I planed to have in use for the next 20 years, God willing. I called Amazon, got a return label and sent it back the same day. Thank you Amazon, I am happy to say I already have a refund. I hope the manufacturers of Hym get future models right. In the meantime if you can't resist buying this, get the protection plan!
