A fun modular build. Larger than expected.

Okay, I've been waiting for a decent Lego Mecha set for years and this one does not disappoint. I have 4 of them now. Yes, FOUR! and they are perfect! Why? Okay, just the normal set setting on my desk is stunning stylish. It looks like it's going to attack everyone. The set is very sturdy, it has a lot of moving parts and the 2 separate functions are at least decent, if not really fun. Next, if you wish to customize it, there is a lot of options. You can replace the arms easily and use something different. For the shoulders, I put in my own missile launchers which were inspired from Robotech. You can change the color scheme easily to make it something much more unique. I used a lot of blue pieces and well, it's just cool the way I did it. Basically, if I'm having this much fun with it, I would have gone bonkers with it when I was in my teens. My recommendation: When it's on sale, get 2 of them. They are really cheap on sale and it's worth every penny. so then, your kid would have 1 perfectly assembled and then another customized. Mark my words, this will go down as one of the best sets ever released by Lego and I've been collecting since 1979.

Long time lego fan here , and every so often i see a set that jumps out at me and i know i'm going to get it , no matter what my wife might say.So it was with this set. I'll just jump right in and say if you can find this set for $30-$40, get it. i got it for $26 during black friday's madness on Amazon.the set looks great, is fun to mess with, and has functionality. it can be interesting keeping the mech on its feet, but if you get creative with the legs, it's a minor issue.breakdown:pros: great looking attack mech extra bug enemies are cool mech splits in two, so 4 vehicles in this set a fun setcons legs can be tricky at times the arms could be beefier

This is my favorite one out of the entire series to date. I just love the design of this thing and the look. I mean just out of the box it looks like a menacing mecha, wait until I modify it with bigger guns!Also I really like the way this series has the break away function which means you are getting two things to play with as once the little jet is removed you still can use to mecha to squish bugs! Awesome design!Plus the little alien bugs you build are also some of the most fun. If you are wondering which Galaxy Squad set should be your first, you can not go wrong with this one.

We love this toy! It is one of the only builds that has lasted around for a while, at least in our house. The only drawback is the projectiles frequently go missing, and we have to stop everything to find one......
