Great product for a curly routine. I do want to say that you're not going to get beautiful curls using ONLY this product and that's true for pretty much any styling product for curls. Generally speaking, curls take layers of product for best results, so if some reviewers have seen poor results from this product, you may need to take a look at how it interacts with the rest of your curl routine items.I found this to be a bit on the heavy/intense hydrating side, so I actually find its best use for me is to use it in place of my leave -in conditioner step instead of as a curl definer. It adds a lot of mositure and hydration while allowing the curl pattern to be defined. I'm also happy to say that VERY little is needed to get a lot of effect, so for stylists this is an excellent value. I expect to get about a year out of the bottle, as I have only a few clients that want curly hair when leaving the salon. For home use, unless you plan to use it absolutely every day, you may wish to find a smaller size of the product as it may go bad before you have a chance to use it all. The product itself smells fresh, bright, and clean - not heavy or oily at all. I'm actually very happy with this product and might even return to purchase it again when it runs out. So far I've seen very good results using it on myself and my clients as well.

All I need is a partial pump of this curl definer, applied with fingertips thru clean, wet hair. I have very fine hair and as long as I’m careful with how much (very little!) I use, my hair doesn’t get weighed down or crunchy.My problem is with the bottle packaging, or more specifically, the pump. This is a very large bottle of product (including the pump, the bottle is about 12 inches tall), but for this price, users shouldn’t need to fight with the pump to get it to work for the first time. Nor should the center piece under the nozzle be covered in a half inch of product (on the outside of the bottle). I’m not excited to have to waste about five times more than I use daily by needing to wipe off the bottle exterior after use.Pleasant, natural smell: a very light coconut scent.

The product smells really nice and comes in a very large bottle. It was easy to use, and it didn't leave my hair feeling crunchy. It's not a good fit for me, however. While it worked well on the curls at the back of my head, it sort of weighed down the hair on top, giving me too much of a clown-hair effect when the hair on the side curled out. My hair has loose curls. Maybe this works better on tighter ones.

This review is for the “Curl Defining Cream.” Underneath that on the bottle it also says “Heat Protection” My bottle is 33.8 full ounces. (I see that the products offered on this page keep changing).However I style my hair it stays. Finally I can let my hair air dry, and have the curls look just as good dry as when they were wet. (My curls have a tendency to fall out during the day, leaving me with sections of straight ish hair and curly ish hair). My hair is long and I think it’s own weight pulls out the curls.When using this product, I have found that when I use a curling iron my curls stay in so much better. Since this was working so well, I decided to try my straightening iron. My hair stayed straight, with no frizz and very little fly away.The only cons I found, are that my curls do not look nearly as hydrated as the people in the photos. They still look the same, they just stay in much better, with less frizz. The other thing is that if I use too much product, it gives my hair a plasticky type of feeling.This bottle is going to last me a really long time, because, even though I have long hair, I do not need much of it. This is a top quality product, which gives good results.

This did leave my hair feeling soft and hydrated, which is fantastic. It does, however, require that you leave it in for the full ten minutes, which means it's not a viable part of a daily routine. If you do have the time to go back and rinse it out (or just hang out in the shower for a solid ten minutes after working this into your hair), this is the product for you.
