Wild Republic Octopus Plush Soft Toy, Cuddlekins Cuddly Toys, Gifts for Kids 30 cm

Despite my adult age, I’d consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of soft toys. They have to be realistic to look at, but also have some natural character and charm to them.I’m happy to say that “Octavia” as I’ve named her, ticks all these boxes. She’s just a great toy to pick up and interact with! Each tentacle has a small length of elastic sewn into the end, which curls the tip and snaps it back to position when extended. The curved ends also give strength and allow the toy to effortlessly ‘stand’ on its tentacles - which it will naturally do on any non-shiney surface. It’s stability while ‘standing’ and ease of posing make it a very satisfying toy to play with!The plush fabric is beautifully soft and the texturing is lovely. Quality of construction seems good, although this toy has not handled by a young child and has only been ‘played with’ very lightly. There is clearly some shaped padding between the eyes to give the face shape. While I think this will hold up fine to regular hugging, it could possibly become dislodged with more... enthusiastic loving.There are only a couple of complaints I have about this toy. The first is the positioning of the obligatory label - being on one of the two front tentacles seems like an odd place for it. The other is the underside. Between the tentacles, there is no beak - the body is made of two simple half-octagons of material so it can lie flat. However this was also where the toy was clearly stuffed, as the seam holding these bottom two pieces of material together seems very crudely sewn. This doesn’t detract from the appeal visually, as you would rarely see the underside, but it feels like a weak spot of the toy.Definitely a recommended purchase for anyone young, or pretending to be, who likes unusual soft toy animals.

Okay, I admit it, I bought this beautiful little creature for myself. Octopuses have a special place in my heart. I just find them so fascinating and, as it's impractical, not to say cuel, to have one, this gorgeous little beast now live with me.She arrives curled up in a clear plastic bag, and having released her I@ve noticed hat her arms are begining to uncurl slightly. Her colour is beautiful - soft Autumnal colours. By happy coincidence I watched a video clip on t'internet just a few days ago, concerning mother octopus who had laid her eggs in an old plastic pipe, which had then come adrift n was sitting on the beach. Have no fear readers, she was rescued along with her eggs and her pipe house - but, she was almost the exact same colour as my lovely Lydia.Wild Republic beasties are all so well made, with firm stitching, no loose parts and lovely soft, cuddly fabric. And this particular one is an amazingly good price.

Bought as a gift for my Fiancé, she loves it. It’s well made and soft. Discovered an accidental, secondary use for it too. It acts as an iPad stand. The tentacles curl round to hold the iPad in place, while the octopus face acts as the backrest. 👍 genius.

Very nice cuddle occupy he’s great

My 7 year old ordered this lovely octopus buddy with his pocket money. The material is smooth and soft, and the stuffing is super cuddly. The "fur" colour is quite realistic which my son really liked.The cuddly toy doesn't have a beak like a real octopus so it's not totally life-like but it still looks really good. The tentacles are shaped so they don't just hang down straight, they curl a little bit. I have noticed that since getting it, some of the stuffing has relocated away from the tentacles so some of them are a bit thin now but I guess they could be reshaped by moving the stuffing back in from the body. It doesn't bother my son so not a big deal!A great toy for a child who likes sea creatures, or grown ups who like cuddly collectables!

Bought this for my brother for Christmas last year - he's 21 and impossible to buy stuff for, but who can hate on an innocent cuddly octopus? Absolutely no one.I was really impressed with how well made it is for a reasonably inexpensive soft toy: the octopus is super soft and snuggly and suitable for children and grown-ups alike as the shiny glass eyes are securely...er, secured, and all eight legs are all nicely proportioned, a little bit squishy and turned up at the ends. The fur (can I call it fur?) is sleek and feels lovely to pet - the colours are pleasingly colour co-ordinated and after googling I can confirm that it is indeed accurate to a real octopus. It even comes with some octopus facts on a tag! Overall, it's cute as heck while still being realistic, good for snuggling, nice for decorating your home with, and I'd recommend it for the octopus fanatic/cuddly toy enthusiast/hobbyless brother in your life.
