what a fantastic nutter!!!
i saw a hilarious interview with JN in the Mail and had to buy this book .This was the guy whio once would have carried around a suitcase with the nuclear detonator at one of the most freezing times within the coldwar ,that scrapped the surface naval fleet to invest in Trident, that took us to war and won decisively, and who was the first politician ever to lift two fingers up to provocative and naive journos by walking out of interviews.i read his previous Mr Wonderful book and loved it - who else would go to Spearmint Rhinos at lunchtime for a curry....he is a genuinely funny and highly inteliigent and doesnt seem to have any scruples at all/ Some of these adventures are just barmy but he doesnt seem to care one bit about what people may think. At times it can veer off into political rant but at others i was almost in hysterics... y9ou can read the book in about 2 hours,i did. it is hilarious. lets just hopem there is a third installment asap.enjoy.

Avoid at all costs
I read its predecessor, Mr Wonderful Takes a Cruise, and thought it was quite amusing, so I bought this book as well. It's a mixture of travel, history and personal musings and - for me - it really doesn't work. I hung on till the end, hoping for an improvement, but was disappointed. I suppose the publishers took the author on because of his name, but they really should have refused.
