I have 5x7 canvasses for crafting classes that I run. We're not artists. These stencils will work to make a nice painted design.

As expected. Good quality product is as good as I wanted.

I tested these with pencil, pen, watercolor and acrylic. The results are typical of what you'd expect from stencils. They wash off pretty well, you just have to be patient with the nooks and crannies to get all of the paint off the stencil if you're interested in keeping them new looking. They are sturdy enough that they don't easily lift off the paper. I used regular copy paper for the test page. The watercolors do seep under the outline if you use too much water, no matter how much you hold down the paper. I liked the result better with paints than pen/pencil. The stems are thin enough that they look like a thick line based on a pass up and down each side. You could also color in the outline afterwards. If you need some help drawing flowers and nature, these are a great set to have. If you keep them in the original plastic, pull the stencil out slowly as they'll catch one another (typical for stencils). I recommend keeping these in a flat spot so the plastic lasts a long time.

First, I don't know why I bought these other than I liked the variety of the designs and I am an art supply addict. I really don't have an intended use for these, but thought they would be good to have in my overflowing arsenol of art supplies. Since I don't have an actual project for these, I ran a simple test. I used these straight up, just taping the sides down, but as I guessed, they really need to be kept down with a removeable spray adhesive. Despite carefully stippling with a stencil brush, the paint flowed under the stencil, creating some pretty bad bleeds in some areas. For the quality I am looking for, this is unacceptable. Had I been working on a real project, I would have sprayed these as I already knew they couldn't be used as is. Because the stencils are pretty intricate, they are difficult to stipple independent areas and colors. They are relatively easy to clean off and the designs are cute.

This arrives with all 12 stencil sheets in a single fold-top acetate bag.These are sturdy PET material according to the product description. They are flexible (able to go around a curved surface, such as a cylinder, but probably not a corner), sturdy, & reusable (washable/waterproof).I have used these on paper with colored pencils, Crayola markers, & Sharpies with great results. The colored pencils did not leave any marks/stains on the stencils. The Crayola markers & Sharpies left traces on the stencils which I was able to wash off with soap & water (Crayola) or an alcohol pad (Sharpie) - you could also just dab a cotton ball, tissue, or wad of TP with rubbing alcohol if you don't have any pads & it will still remove the Sharpie residue. In addition, I've used the stencils on fabric, wood, & cement blocks with paint pens, acrylic & latex paints & a sponge dauber, sponge "brush", or a small bristled brush that I normally use for painting on framed canvases (I think either goat or sable bristles). All have left traces on the stencils that I have been able to remove by following that paint's directions for clean-up.No matter the medium, I have done clean up immediately & these still look great (no, they don't look brand spanking new, but still great condition & nothing that impedes the continued use of these stencils). I would not recommend setting these aside after use & waiting to clean them as that would increase the difficulty in getting them clean, & may result in dried pieces of paint sticking in such a way as to make the stencils deformed or 'bleed' paint, spoiling the crisp design.I really like the variety of flowers & insect life offered in this set, & as always with stencils, appreciate the ability to mix & match from 1 stencil to the next.I highly recommend!

I love so much about this set of nature stencils, I am not sure where to start! First, the variety with 60 stencils is extensive. They are all numbered (as shown in the 3rd photo) and come with a handy ring to keep them together and in order. I saved photos of all of them onto one document, printed that out, and numbered each one so I can easily locate the one I am looking for. I was searching for stencils in this smaller size for making cards and coasters and this set provides great value and variety for that purpose. After having worked with them for awhile, I find them very easy to use and providing inspiration for more projects to experiment with - the hardest part is often in choosing which design because they are all so cute!
