Easy to install and works Great Works
The 12W, 18V system is being used to supply water to a Greenman fountain in our backyard. The pump lifts the water about 3ft without a problem, and the water hitting the catchment below makes a very satisfying sound! Black tubing would have been better for my purposes but that is easily remedied. The wiring is run thru a PVC conduit up the back of the wall then across a level area where it then runs up the neighbor's fence to the solar panel. The top of the fence is about 6ft above the block wall and it blocks the sun for a good part of the day. All of the materials supplied were certainly adequate to the manufacturer's intended purpose and mine. My wife is ecstatic!!I'm going to order the battery for this system and try to get a 15ft extension cord so I can get the solar panel above the fence and get more run time when there's no sun. I will just need to un-plug it when I don't want it running. Very Happy!

How to improve produce
For older persons need make a permanent attachment on back of solar panel to attach ground pegPhoto attached 3 parts-solar panel were part 2 to be permanent attached so easy to attach 3 part.

Great alternative to a 120 volt pump for a small water feature
We installed this solar fountain pump in place of a 120v pump in our 5' x 10' Reflection Pond. The installation was quick and easy - there is plenty of power cord from the pump to the solar panel to place the panel out of eyesight. With one of the "rainfall" diverters installed and full sunshine, the spray rises about 4 feet in the air. The volume of spray isn't as great as a 120v pump, but that's to be expected. One of the negatives we found is the flow adjuster is very limited, with only a quarter turn of a dial on the pump to control MIN to MAX. With any of the multi-spray heads installed, there was virtually no difference in spray height going from MIN to MAX. It would be better if there was more flow adjustability possible. The other negative for us is that the solar fountain has no way of storing energy (like some solar fountains do). So when a cloud passes by, the fountain stops. When it's later in the day and the sun is lower in the sky, or during the overnight, the fountain stops. This is NOT good for us, as the main reason we have a fountain in this pond is to keep the animals away from the pond so they don't fall in and drown. We live in a very rural area with lots of animals around - so we NEED that fountain to run ALL the time. For this reason, we had to remove this fountain from the pond and will use it in a small water feature on the patio instead. There is a replaceable course plastic water filter inside the pump housing, along with a spare filter. Depending on your application, you will need to replace/clean the filter periodically to keep the pump performing properly. I see many reviews stating the pump stopped working after xx days... but they don't say if they checked or replaced the filter. ALL submersible pumps are sensitive to clogging, so be aware you can't "set it and forget it". You need to check the filter weekly and keep it clean. If you need a solar fountain for a small water feature, and don't mind that it can only run when the sun is bright - you'll probably enjoy this fountain.

Technically works but…
I purchased this to pump water through a 4” 2 tier fountain. It was easy to set up and when it is working it’s well powerful enough. It has a dial that allows you to adjust the intensity and I actually turned it down. So that was good. However, the slightest shadow on the solar panel and it’s off. It needs 100% full sun to run, no clouds, no trees. I put my hand above it and covered maybe 10% of it with a shadow and it doesn’t work. Also, the angle has to pretty direct towards the sun so through out the day I’ve been playing sun tag, adjusting it to keep it running.I bought a separate battery charger so that it’ll hopefully run more consistently throughout the day but overall it’s a lot more hassle than I expected and if it didn’t mean I have to disassemble my fountain to return it, I probably would send it back and put the effort in to running power to the fountain.
