Perfect fit/Quality Replacement
If your Tessy door handle stops presenting and makes a grinding noise, chances are near-certain that this is the part you need. This is a solid replacement piece and you'll see that the material is thicker than the OEM part.Now... I'm not going to say its easy to get to (because it's not) but there are several videos on YouTube to coach you through it and its absolutely doable. Take your time and save a TON of $$ on this repair.Essential needs:-T15 and T30 Torx sockets-A 9mm and 10mm socket-A 10mm end wrench-A socket extension-A non-marring pry tool-A pair of pliers-PatienceNice to haves:-Skinny hands (I don't have these-- its like trying to work with boxing gloves on.)-A helper to hold the door panel while disconnecting/reconnecting wiresThe worst part is getting the door handle out. There is one nut on top that is very hard to get to, and once the handle is loose you'll have to rotate it several ways before it fits through the access hole. Installing the piece into the door handle assembly is easy, and I found the unit easier to put back in for some reason.

Worked great but need another tool
Rarely write reviews but product is great and saved me the standard $325 for Tesla to come out and do it. I would strongly encourage people who are doing this repair to pick up a 10mm battery terminal socket wrench. There are 4 screws holding the handle mechanism that you need to remove. Three of them were pretty easy to get to with standard socket. Fourth one was impossible (until I bought that side terminal battery ratchet) because there isn't enough room between the 10mm nut and the window with a standard socket. Wish I would've known this prior to starting the project!

Fixed my 1st generation door handle
These are high quality. Stronger than the solid ones I used last time door handle broke. Make sure to lubricate door handle moving parts before reassembly.
