Q: Will the tray lay flat if a cord is ran through the charging station?

The hole for the cord is on the bottom so, no it will not lay flat. Otherwise, it is very nice and I would definitely order it again. Putting stick-on tabs on the bottom corners would bring it up enough to keep it from not sitting flat. The price for the quality would be worth it.

Q: Can I charge my phone on this? An opening for cord?

Yes, there are 2 openings in the back right corner of the tray, both are placed on the bottom of the tray...where the phone is sitting in the photo. My husband does not use it for charging his phone so I am not sure if the tray will sit completely flat if you run a cord under the back corner.

I don't believe it is real leather. However, it is extremely nice and I would definitely order it again. A great bargain for the price

Q: Does the cell phone charger area in the back right, fit the iPhone 6 Plus? Or if you don't know can someone specify the width of the cell phone space?

There is actually a circle cut out at the bottom of the back right section of the tray. The circle is about 3/4 of an inch in diameter. So you can fit a cord through the bottom of the tray. I do not think your phone will sit straight like the photo, but I think it should work. The back right section is about 3.5" wide (from left to right) and about 3" from front to back.
