Works good - Wish it had a button to reverse the fan
This works fine. However, my old switch allowed me to change the direction of the fan and this one does not.

Micro switch instead of capacitive switches
This unit has micro switches with a positive click. The prior units I have used had capacitive switches. Over time the contracts of the capacitive switches become dirty and quit working after about a year. However, with micro switches with a clear click, I expect this unit to last much much longer than prior versions. This is a very welcome feature that is not advertised.

Works with old 5 pin dip switch fans
My ancient hunter fan had a 5 dip switch receiver and this switch has 4 dip switches. I set switches on the fan to ON-ON-OFF-OFF-OFF and the wall switch to ON-OFF-OFF-OFF and it worked great! Note, if you misread the directions and connect either of the black switch wires to a white neutral wire, you'll fry it. Don't use any white wires from your wall. Also, after you install it and the light comes on but the fan only hums and doesn't turn, then you either have the black switch wires reversed or the fan's reverse switch is stuck in the middle of forward/reverse.Not 5 stars because the instructions could be better.

Total junk
Device worked great for 2 and a half months, now the transmitter no longer works and I lost all function to fan, and light. Amazon will exchange however now I got to pay the electrician another 120 to remove it, so 120 from the first time to installed now I'm 240 in the hole, I asked Amazon for partial refund or exchange and they request I send the bad one back, to pay 120 again I will just get a quality brand from home depot. Do not buy this junk.

Works well
This was pretty easy to install. The receiver was a little hard to squeeze into open space above the fan cover. Directions were easy to follow.

Works great until it doesn't
I replaced 4 fan controllers with these switches so i wouldn't have to keep track of loose remotes throughout the house. The install was fairly straightforward though I had to clear out a few outlet boxes to make space and I did replace all the fan receiver with the compatible one provided with the switch. If you can't wire a light outlet or install a ceiling fan, this may not be a diy.So, after a few months of no problems, fan # 1 would stop responding to buttons. Only the light would work. Then only high speed would work. Then only the power button would work. Interestingly, pulling out the wall switch restored function and then lost it again pushing it back into the box. maybe a loose connection? Maybe some induced current? Who knows. Replaced the unit and it's working again.Fan number 2 though has a habit of turning on the lights at 11pm every few weeks. That's odd. maybe it's the neighbors on a shared frequency? But no one lives in a 40ft radius. And why only at 11pm and only this outlet? I switched the frequency and it seemed to work, but 3 months later and it happened again at the same time. Wonder what else is wired in that little circuit board that it knows time of day? Probably going to replace that unit too.In short, a fun little tool but not reliable or secure.

Works great, easy to install
We love having a remote and a wall switch. You can turn on the lights on your way into the room instead of searching for the remote, but can also change the fan setting from bed. This works great and was easy to install to an existing fan. Glad someone still makes a kit like this!
