I have three battery operated Ring cameras that we had to use a ladder to get to every time the batteries needed charging. Thankfully, Ring provided a resolution to the problem with these power cords that keep the batteries charged. They came in two different lengths and were simple to hook up. Since they worked so well with the cameras, we bought another for the doorbell. We didn't want to have to install a power source where the doorbell is mounted, so we punched a small hole through the wall behind the doorbell and fished the power cord through and down a short way inside the wall to an inside power outlet. All cords are hidden, and we haven't had to charge a battery in over 6 months. What a time saver and so much more convenient.

The cord arrived quickly and does exactly what it is supposed to do

Does not work -- does not actually charge the battery! I've had it plugged in for 72 hours and my battery % has not increased by even 1%.The specs say "1 x Power Adapter (5V/1A)". Compare to the official Ring cable which has specs: "5.0V DC, 3A, 15.0W; 9.0V DC, 2.0A, 18.0W". So it probably doesn't work because it (1) delivers too little power and (2) doesn't support 9V (USB-C fast charging). Confirmed that if I plug it into my phone, my phone only reports it as slow charging.If you read the other reviews they're all "Vine Customer Review of Free Product", hmmm, weird. Also, I found two other similar cords sold by this same company (ALERTCAM) and read the reviews: you'll find that they also have similar 1-star reviews saying things like "Wish I’d read the reviews - not the same as the official adapter", "STOP. This adaptor outputs 5V, and the camera needs 9V for full function.", and "Does not work - not charging battery".

First time I connected the cable it did not register as being wired to the camera but it was still charging the camera. So it charges the camera it just doesn’t recognize it as being wired. So I’m okay with it.

We love our Ring security system but, let's face it, the battery-operated Rings are a pain that we wish we'd never gotten. We MUCH prefer the hard-wired versions, but there was one spot that would have been impossible to hard-wire, so we tried the battery edition.Now--usually at night, in the worst weather--the Ring's battery needs changing at least monthly, sometimes more often. Adding a power cord that we can string a line to saves a lot of aggravation.One caution: If you're buying this to retrofit an older (Gen 1, for example) Ring camera, you'll need a different connector (the "barrel" connector). This cable has a USB-C connection, which only works on newer Ring editions.

This charger is ONLY compatible with the Ring Spotlight Cam Plus or Pro. It will NOT work on older Ring CAM. I no longer have to swap out the batteries when voltage is low. The 16' length is a is sufficient to plug the charger in an existing garage outlet and doesn't require a NEW box installation close to the camera.
