Eating my words...
Well, this is 'eat my words' time. I have to confess that even when I was buying this (for a 7 year old, I hasten to add) I thought it was going to be yet another pale imitation of the Danish plastic building-block making masters. Probably best I don't name names here as some people have proved to be a mite touchy about such things.Anyway, I digress. This is one seriously good kit. It came with really good, clear, easy to follow instructions. The pieces were of good quality and snapped together (and stayed together) as they should. When completed it was sturdy enough to be used as a toy by the aforementioned 7 year old instead of falling to pieces the first time it was picked up (unlike some others, but see above). Some of the markings are pre-painted on to the plastic, the rest being good quality stickers which seem to do as their name implies they should. The plane itself (I almost used the word 'model') actually does resemble a Hurricane. The fit of the various components is excellent ie there are no gaps or overlapping edges etc. How they manage this from plastic blocks when there are so many varying angles escapes me, but there it is. I have seen a Cobi Sturmgeschutz and it appears to be of similar quality. Even the details of the uniforms of the pilot/soldiers appears to be accurate.Lego really are missing a trick by not manufacturing tanks and 'planes.

Great model, instructions are.... different!
These brick models are great! The detail is very good in comparison and the size is very good for the price. Looks great on its stand with the undercarriage up or down! The only down side to this (although not enough to loose a star rating) is the instructions are different to other known brick block brands AKA Lego. It took my 6 year old some time to get used to the different style used in the instructions. But, for an adult it wasn't an issue.Overall a great product and will be getting other aircraft to go with this

A winner in the Lego rival department
Cobi have such a vast variety of products that definitely rival lego for quality and designs.

Happy with the Hurricane
Having now built 7 of the Cobi aircraft, I have to say that I am very impressed with all of them. As they're made of 'Lego style' blocks you can't expect 100% accuracy but the general look of them is highly satisfying, with nice details like a joystick and gunsight in the cockpit and retractable undercarriage (notably opening the right way). The Hurricane is a nice example and captures the silhouette of this iconic aircraft very well. If you're looking for decent sized models of WWII aircraft then look no further. They are relatively straightforward to build, taking about an hour, and the end result is well worth it. Recommended.
