This book deals with one of the most disgusting crimes, child molestation
This book deals with one of the most disgusting crimes, child molestation, and how frequently it occurs. The book starts slowly but before long it goes at breakneck speed. I couldn't put it down and stayed up half the night to finish it. Her writing and plot structure is excellent and the flow is good without getting too complicated. The characters are easy to know and as you read the other books you see them evolve with their good and bad points. Ms (or is it Frau?) Neuhaus knows her part of Germany and writes with confidence and superb ability that makes you a part of the locale. This is not a pretty detective story, but it is well worth reading. Keep up the good work and give us more of these great stories.

German Gothic, And A Compelling Thriller
This is one of the best I've read in Nele Neuhaus' police procedural series featuring detectives Pia Kirchhoff and Oliver von Bodenstein. Characterization is the strong point in the series, and this novel excels. It is the sixth novel in the series (though not the sixth to appear in English), so the central characters have had time to fill out and to develop nuanced relationships with each other, and with subsidiary characters. Several of the other characters in the novel are also strongly developed: this is a well-populated thriller, but there is never any risk of confusing characters. The plot is compelling, if a bit over the top -- as so often in crime fiction, one must suspend the will to disbelieve. But the novel is a compelling read, and leaves me waiting for another to appear in English.

Gripping a real page turner but very disturbing
Good topic but disgusting too. The characters are believable and the way the story progressed is flawless with enough of action to make it an interesting read. I hope that such a massive paedophile ring and the tortures that they put the children through is all the imagination of the author but somehow there must be some truth in this bad world that such ostracities actually occur to the innocent children of this world this book is not for the weak hearted

Well written, moves quickly
I read "Snow White Must Die" awhile ago so I am familiar with the characters. The story develops well, there are no "rabbits out of the hat" surprises, and the characters are believable. The book does tie up loose ends rather quickly at the end. Of the two, I think SWMD is slightly better because the conspiracy of silence is a bit more believable.
