Worked great on cream coloured cotton fabric. Takes a bit of practice to get used to, just wish they would produce a strong image after more than two uses.

The book looked like it had been wet for a while ….. the pages were discoloured and warpedHowever I can still photocopy so haven’t returned

This is a book filled with lovely images. And there are multiple images for borders, as well as big central images. The only caveat is that the transfers aren't so great for dark fabrics. So, you've got to be willing to use a tracing stylus or something (on transfer paper) if you're wanting to embroider on dark fabrics. Still, it's totally worth it, because these are great images.

Beautiful, work very well, if you follow the directions! Can use each transfer several times, with the same deep colour being transfered. Transfer may be a little difficult to wash out completely, when finished, so I just washed twice or pre-soaked. Which both worked with great results.

Ich habe mir dieses Buch gekauft für Stickvorlagen. Die Muster sind auch überwiegend die welche schon in anderen Dover Büchern gezeigt werden. Mein Kaufgrund war das man die Vorlagen mehrmals verwenden kann und nicht nach dem einmaligen Gebrauch schon reif für den Mülleimer sind.Die Vorlagen sind gut und vielseitig und somit auch sehr breit gefächert für die Anwendung.Zum Aufbügel selber es ist wirklich wichtig die Anleitung GENAU zu lesen! Im gegensatz zu anderen Transfer Papieren, gilt hier NICHT die höchste Hitze sondern eine Mittlere. auch sollte man wirklich vorher eine Probe auf einem ähnlichen Material durchführen UND zwischen Papier und Bügeleisen einen dünnen Stoff legen! sonst kann es passieren das das Papier anbrennt! Und NICHT hin und her bügeln sondern daraufsetzten. Feste drückten langsam bis 5 Zählen und dann Bügeleisen versetzten und wieder drücken und zählen. Dies besonderst wiederholen an den Rändern.Ich habe bis jetzt ein Motiv zwei mal verwendet und es Funktioniert wunderbar. Das Muster ist gut sichtbar. Wobei ich gerade an sehr feinen stellen noch einmal zur besseren Sichtbarkeit mit einem Bleistift nachzeichne.Fazit: Toll für Sticker und solche die mit keltischen Mustern etwas verziehren wollen. Nachteil bei ganz feinen Sachen reicht die Vorlage auf dem Stoff manchmal nicht ganz aus.4 von 5 Sticknadeln.

I've bought Courtney Davis' book of "Celtic Iron-On Transfers" several times due to the amount of embroidery I used to do. Each design transferred well to light-colored fabric several times. The only reason I don't have these books anymore is due to loaning them out & hurricanes. I have searched for un-used copies, but I have to contact every seller of "used" copies to ask if the transfers were actually ever "used". With the Renaissance of interest in all things Celtic/Irish/Scottish (& Viking), I cannot believe Dover has not set out a new printing of this amazing book. Courtney Davis' work absolutely deserves to be discovered by a new generation of history buffs, embroidery devotés, LARP fiends, & tattoo design nerds! ~ trish
