LymanMatch Shooting Bag & Bag Jack Combo Kit

Nice product, but one of the larger bags (the one on the bottom) was about 25% under-filled with the granulated plastic material that the bags are filled with. This makes it impossible to "adjust" the rest. The bag is designed to force the upper bags closer together when the lower bags are spread further apart and vice-versa. With one of the lower bags under-filled, one of the upper bags just flops off to the side, making the rest virtually worthless. I called Lyman customer service, explained the issue, and asked the guy if he could provide me with another cup or so of the plastic shreds so I could fill the under-filled bag. He didn't seem to understand what the material was, or what it was for, and said he wouldn't be able to send me any to correct the problem. This is just extremely poor quality control and even poorer customer service. If this was an RCBS or Lee product, it would have been taken care of with an apology from their customer service person. I suppose I could add some beans to fill the bag, but that can be a problem if the bag ever gets wet. Now I'll have to decide if I should return the item.

Like almost any scissor lift device there is a slight movement left to right but once your rifle settles into the bag and is supported with your shoulder shoulder or even better a good quality leather rear bag, I have found that the system is phenomenally stable. Before even with a good tripod and a stock bag, with my best efforts at 100 yards you could see the scope crosshairs move from left to right over a 1MO a Targets . With this system it is rocksolid, dead zero, no movement at all! Frankly I am amazed at the stability of this unit and the ease with which operates. Unlike another review I read mine is completely silent while being used. A great buy for the price and a great piece of equipment to add more results of 1/2 MOA target matches. The unit itself along with the bag has sufficient weight in itself but I have added an extra 3/8” 12 x 16 aluminum plate with adjustable spiked feet because of the shooting benches that are at the range are covered with carpet. The slightly wider footprint and the ability to level the unit on unlevel benches even adds to the accuracy convenience of use.

Lift:The scissor jack design makes the lift precision adjustable and very stable. The large platform makes it usable with any bag rest, and the textured surface and feet keep everything in place.Bag:The bag is also very adjustable. It has fill/drain spouts to allow removing/adding fill material to make the bag as rigid or soft as desired. Also, a suede surface in the actual gun rest portion of the bag to protect the gunstock and allow smooth positioning of the airgun/firearm. The design allows spreading the base to adjust contact tightness with the gunstock, so shooting spring air guns accurately is possible by adjusting for minimal contact, while long range precision firearm shooting can be made a little easier by spreading the bottom of the base of the bag to allow the gunstock rest to firmly grip the gunstock.After using it to shoot various air guns and firearms at ranges from 10 meters to 400 yards, I am truly impressed with the lift and bag individually, and in concert. I would recommend them together as they make for a great shooting platform. If I had one request, it would be for a custom fit carrying case for the lift. I would have gladly paid $20 to $30 more if it had come with a good one.

First jack arrived with only three of the four rubber feet. I contacted Lyman and they promptly sent out the wrong size foot. I had to return the whole package with the bag to Amazon. The second jackstand package arrived, only to find out that the carry strap on the bag was defective, with an obviously thin plastic clasp which lacked sufficient stiffness to engage the clip and stay. The weight of the bag caused the clip connection to fail and the bag fell to the floor while being carried. Lyman sent a replacement strap which works well. I expected better from Lyman. No one needs this kind of aggravation and inconvenience. Once I obtained good components, the system works. Durability is the next question.

Works perfectly and is easy to use to get on target. I wish this pair of shooting accessories had been available years earlier - would have saved me a lot of money buying ever more expensive benchrests some ov which have cost nearly $1,000. this combination has allowed me to shoot some of the best groups with heavy recoiling rifles that I have ever recorded.

This thing is working good for me off my bench. As others have stated, it's a little hard to wind the handle up or down. To help remedy that situation I greased the screw rod and that helped a lot. I imagine with continued use it will break in and get easier as time goes by. With that said, it still works fine for me and has allowed me to improve my shooting. It's built very solidly and should last a very long time. I'm very happy with it.

This is the best device I have found for shooting groups for the average person. I believe this works better than a typical bag and rear combo, and seems to be more stable than a bipod. I would recommend this if you can get it for around 45-60 dollars. The bag jack could be a little more solid, I do tighten the screws sometimes. They also call this a lab jack in other categories. They may be better but I have not tried them.

The bag is really nice and secure for holding various styles of gun stock designs. The problems are with the jack stand itself, the higher you lift it the more wobbly it becomes. I have several friends that have this setup and they have given up on the jack and now using a stepped wood block with their bag.

Used to prop up electic scooters in suv for transport. Easy to use and sandbag used as wheel stop.

Excellent product. Bag is very well made with quality design and materials. Platform is very sturdy and stable.
