Great but not perfect
I use this product to keep a HP Computer running that can no longer detect hard drives on the motherboard. I have 2 hard drives, 1 SSD and a DVD connected to it all running at Sata 2 3.0gbs and it works great. The only downsides are if you want it to boot you need to download the latest bios 6.6.0 and it only detects the SSD as a standard hard drive but works fine as long as you don't try to defragment it.

Can't do RAID above 5034GB.
OK, so it works fine for JBOD.It took me a short while to work this out, but if you plug in the card, nothing will happen. You need to install the drivers (Up to date drivers can be found here: [...]) and restart. If you want to use hardware RAID, press f4 during the boot sequence to take you to the RAID card BIOS (similar to the computer BIOS) and you can set things up from there. However, there is quite a big caveat. I have 4x 4TB drives and was planning to make a 12TB RAID 5 array. No joy; the largest the BIOS will offer to make is 5034GB.For RAID 1 it even lower - I can't quite remember but it was of the order of 4000GB.However it seems to be handling the 4 drives as JBOD just fine. I was going to use the Win10 'storage spaces' solution, but this lost me 2TB, offering only about 9.64TB total, and when I did do this the transfer speeds were so painfully slow I gave up and have just built it with JBOD in the end.

Not a good card
Poor quality card with painfully slow BIOS which keeps your computer at a black screen with a flashing cursor for at least two minutes. When it finally came to life, I got disk copy errors and slow performance even though I was only using it for data disks and not the operating system (Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit). Obviously mine was defective but I've done some research and it seems the slow BIOS issue is actually normal for this card. Returned to Amazon for refund.

Card Did Not Work With Windows 7 64 bit
This card comes with an outdated BIOS and just hung at the final stage of setting up a RAID 1 Array. Support was prompt but did not resolve the issue. The RAID drivers and bios are by Silicon Image and more recent ones were available from their website. The card manufacturers said using the updated drivers and BIOS might work but would invalidate the warranty so I sent the card back. The StarTech card also uses Silicon Image drivers and BIOS, works and is cheaper.

A RAID card that actually does RAID.
This is my third RAID card from AMAZON, the first TWO said they did RAID but what they meant was from with in Windows it would do RAID but by BIOS.This does BIOS RAID which is exactly what I wanted, and transfer rates are good.Fast delivery and very happy
