Warmer than expected -- and not at all soft
I have been searching for ages to find an ideal comforter for summer. I picked up a cheap one off of Amazon that has honestly served me pretty well, but I'd like something more luxurious. I have another silk comforter that is amazing, and saw this and thought it might be the perfect mix of comfort and breathability for summer. Unfortunately, I'm finding that is not the case. While there is some variability in how warm silk feels to me (in terms of temperature), I generally find this to be warm, despite being as thin as my blanket. (To be fair, I'm a hot sleeper.) Even in the colder days we just had, my bedroom is about 70 degrees, and I did overheat and need to remove the comforter. Far more important, however, is feel. Unlike most other reviewers, this did not feel soft to me at all -- and since it cannot be washed, I couldn't just toss it through the washer/dryer once to soften the fabric. In addition to the raw feel, after using it for a little while, it made my skin feel itchy. On the plus side, I didn't personally notice any sort of odor associated with the comforter, as other reviewers have mentioned.Overall, if you are looking for fluff or weight, this isn't it (though it is delightfully squishy). If you are looking for softness, I don't recommend it, although numerous other reviewers seem to, so it's possible I just got a bad one. If you are looking for a little bit of extra warmth, this absolutely WILL provide it! If you are not an especially hot sleeper and need something a little extra for summer, and you don't care about loft, this is a nice luxury item that isn't as expensive as the competition and might actually fit the bill!As a side note, the bag it comes in is GORGEOUS and I seriously considered keeping the item just to keep the bag!Lastly, I got the king size for a queen-sized bed (I favor oversized bedclothes), and finding a duvet cover of the right proportions is tough. In addition to the duvet cover made by Silk Camel, I found two more on Amazon. One is from Olive & Crate, the other is from TAFTS. If this turns out to be the right comforter for you, I hope that helps. because you will need a duvet cover. :)

Very lightweight, but still a little warm for me.
In the process of redoing my bedroom, I went on a little odyssey of sorts trying to find the right blanket for me. I have a very hard time regulating my body temperature. I start out freezing and then wake up very hot, even sweating, despite having an open window and fan (in Oregon!). I tried 3 different options: 1) this product 2) Linenspa down alternative duvet insert 3) a cotton quilt (no stuffing, just cotton) from Bed Bath and Beyond that I clipped into my duvet cover. Here are my findings:1) This product: Very lightweight in terms of the actual weight on your body. This may be good for some, but I like my blankets to feel a little heavier. I was too warm under this blanket when I tried it in March in my climate. The duvet insert itself looks very nicely made and comes in beautiful packaging. Downside of course is that the duvet insert itself is not washable. Overall, this duvet insert was my 2nd choice among the three options I tried.2) Linenspa down alternative duvet insert: Way too hot!! I don't understand where all the reviewers are coming from when they say that it's "temperature regulating." Upsides were that it was nice and fluffy and looked goon in my linen duvet cover.3) Cotton blanket clipped inside of my linen duvet cover: this was what I ultimately went with. The blanket is heavy enough to calm my nervous system, but I seriously never overheat with this combo. It will be perfect for summer and spring. In the winter/fall, I will likely have to put another blanket folded at the foot of my bed to pull up when it's extra chilly, but I would have that anyway for looks, so no biggie :-) I would highly recommend trying the cotton blanket option for warm sleepers. The best part is that I only had to spend about $40-50 rather than $200.

The best comforter after years of searching
I'm a bed sheet and comforter snob.I've tried 10+ comforters before settling on this one. I've had it for one year now, and if/when this ever wears out I will purchase another of the same. Why it's better than the others:- No smell. All the down comforters I tried smelled weirdly of goose/duck. This silk comforter had absolutely no smell out of the package. I'm very sensitive to smells and any thing that touches my skin, and there's nothing bothersome about this comforter.- Warmth:Weight ratio. This is a personal preference, but I don't like really heavy comforters weighing me down when I sleep. This is the warmest comforter you can get for the weight.- feel - It just feels luxurious. When you squeeze the comforter in between your fingers it slides around in a very satisfying manner. It's hard to explain, but everyone who has tried this comforter also thinks feels amazing without quite being able to describe why.EDIT: It's so good, I bought a second one in Fall Weight (1500g), I already owned the Spring Weight one (1000g) for several years. I found Spring Weight was perfect for the summer, when I leave my AC at a relatively high 78 degrees. But I found it too cold in the winter, when I leave my heat at 73 degrees. Going to sleep would be okay, but by the time I woke up, I would find my whole body cold. So I used some cheap synthetic comforter in the winter, and always missed my silk comforter.

Good Quality and Long Lasting
I've bought a few of these over the years, changing them out seasonally. The hem work, silk filling, outer casing are excellent quality. But what's really nice is the warmth to weight ratio is high, so if you're a cool sleeper, you can use a light weight duvet and not feel like you're buried under blankets.
