Queen: The Complete Illustrated Lyrics

Well, best would have to be the complete lyrics, but the way they are presented is delightful. It contains stories about each song with illustrations. As an example, I include a picture of two of the 6 pages devoted to "I want to Break Free". The printing and illustrations are beautiful and it is a fun book to read. I highly recommend it if you are a Queen fan.

This book contains the lyrics of all Queen songs. There is nothing special about that. Whoever got the albums, has the lyrics already. What's really special in this book after all, is that the book is packed with many amazing photos, art from the albums and hand written lyrics. All from the personal archive of the band. Most of the hand written lyrics were never seen before. The books is perfectly designed and looks very impressive.The only disappointments I have:1) The books contains no text besides the lyrics. I would have expected some behind the scenes stories, as how they got the ideas for the lyrics, meaning the lyrics had for the band members (if any), etc. The lyrics on their own are rather redundant, since you can find them in each of the albums. Needless to publish a book specially for it.2) The book comes in paperback only.I still rate it 5, because the book is really beautiful, and worth the purchase even without any meaningful text.The book is an official Queen publication.You can see some pages preview of this book on the official site of queen:[...]

Absolutely amazing! Beautiful!!!!

I purchased the book as used, so I shouldn't complain about its condition - I had to glue the cover, because it was separated from the book...But the book itself is great, with lots of beautiful pictures and handwritten lyrics. Though as a hardcore Queen fan I missed some (e.g. of Mustapha). But I'm very glad I bought it :-).

The book is really beautiful and it's exactly what the title says, it has all the lyrics to Queen album songs with great pictures of the band, art of the albums and some pictures of handwritten lyrics by the members of the band. The quality of the paper is good and the size of the book is bigger than I thought. I'm really satisfied with the purchase, it's a jewel for Queen fans. If you are looking for a book with information about the band though, this is not what you want, because the only text besides the lyrics are little explanations about the pictures, nothing more.

Just a great job. Short forwards by Taylor and May then, bang, on to the first song, "'39." The songs are listed alphabetically, each with a photo of its related album and the U.S. or non-U.S. single picture sleeve, with many of the songwriters' handwritten lyrics. Includes many other beautiful photos (portraits, candids, live shots). High-quality glossy paper. Along with Benoit Clerc's "All the Songs," this is my Queen bible. The only way it could be better would be if it were hardcover, it deserves to be. (The paperback does have attached dust-jacket flaps mimicking a hardcover.) Another reviewer pointed out that "Mustapha" is missing but Freddie said that his lyrics were "complete gibberish." For such a beautiful book and all that's included, the price is low.

This book is perfect for any queen fan! Full of pictures and scribbles made by band members. All song lyrics in there! It’s a big heavy book!

Dieses Buch entpuppt sich fast als Füllhorn an Fotos der Band und sehr vielen Handgeschriebenen Entwürfen zu Songtexten. Die endgültigen Fassungen liegen hier gedruckt vor also absolut lesbar. Fasziniert haben mich die Anmerkungen von den anderen Band-Mitgliedern, die auf den Entwürfen vermerkt sind. Dabei handelt es sich wohl um persönliche spielanleitungen. Hier lässt sich sehr gut nachvollziehen wie die Band zusammen-gearbeitet hat.
