Lies of My Monster: A Dark Mafia Romance (Monster Trilogy) Paperback – March 3, 2023

Well this is the saddest and most heartbreaking book of the trilogy. I don’t much like Kirill in this one and I feel such despair for Sasha. The writing really wrings out these heart rending emotions from you. The plot and characters are so well developed. Love all the side characters too.

Lies of My Monster was an entertaining and angsty dark romance book. This is the second book in the Monster trilogy and picks up immediately after the first book, so I would highly recommend starting that one first.It is dual POVs of the main characters, Sasha and Kirill, and has some great tropes like, an age gap, close proximity and a secret romance. I would suggest checking the content and trigger warnings before reading just in case.The overall storyline was angsty and drama-filled. There were a lot of heartbreaking, amusing and sexy moments. I absolutely enjoyed all the tension and angst between Sasha and Kirill, especially after what happened in Russia. I definitely felt that Kirill was a bit too harsh on Sasha at times though.I also felt like certain side plots were completely forgotten, like Sasha finding her brother or the truth to what happened to her family. This book definitely seemed to have focused more on repairing Sasha and Kirill’s relationship and earning back that trust.The spice was amazing and one of my favorite parts was Kirill demanded a pet name.The last few chapters were a rollercoaster of emotions. There were parts that absolutely made me tear up and that cliffhanger, I have no words! There’s a lot more to Sasha and Kirill’s story and I cannot wait to find out what’s a lie and the truth in the final book.Overall, a great read and follow up to the first book in this series.

WHAT THE HECK AHHHHH. Great series, very soul sucking and interesting. I’m absolutely just wowed. Oh my gosh. What in the heck?!?!

This book is so intense. The roller coaster ride of all roller coasters. How does an author keep you on the edge of your seat the whole book? You think you know something? WELL YOU DON’T KNOW ANYTHING. RUNNING ( yes I’m yelling) TO THE NEXT BOOK SO FAST.

I know I say this with every Rina Kent book but wow just wow, I understand even less than with the first book, I know I will get my answers with the 3rd book but I am speechless, the amount of emotions I went through reading this book shouldn’t be legal, but to say I loved every part of it is just an understatement, i devoured this book, it started with me suffering and ended with me suffering, my poor Sasha my heart breaks for you, I was fighting with this woman the whole book because if I went for half the things she went through I would have died or left, the amount of love she has for that MF of Kirill in this book is just too much and you hate him, you get to hate him so much for all the heartbreak that Sasha goes through mostly by the end of the book, I am just crying my eyes out because the very end breaks your heart and leaves you gasping for air, it’s 11pm as I am writing this and I am starting the next book right away because I don’t think I can go to sleep with so many questions…

I am so legitimately involved in this story and I can’t take the cliff hangers!!! I need to know NOW! The plot got really good!!!! What is this craziness!!!! I’m too addicted and upset that I have to wait!!!! Let’s go lady author—I need to know what’s going on!!!If you can’t tell—the story has me stuck inside of it! Needless to say it’s great! Another Rina book I’m suckered into. Sadly, I must wait. But I will say this—we need to have her write the book out and then I won’t be pacing, waiting for this story to be done.

It took me less then 24 hours to finish this book. I cried so hard for Sasha. I refuse to believe what was said at the end about Kirill.

This one was very meh to me and quite cheesy. Cheesy is like my kryptonite when reading. The MFC turned very whiny and seemed to have completely forgotten her main goal. She became a borderline obsessive stalker versus a badass with a goal like in the first book. Considering how wary she is of the MMC in the first book, it was completely out of character imo for her to not retain some suspicion. The ending is interesting but I’m also not 100% convinced the author will be able to turn it into something actually interesting. The author sets up haunting/intense scenarios very well but the follow through is always lacking and falls flat imo. I will definitely attempt to read the third installment and hope it manages to keep the intensity and doesn’t fall flat.

Talk about an emotional roller coaster! I seriously could not believe all of the plot twists and unexpected turns this book has. Rina Kent did it again and sucked me into her morally grey world and made me fall for the villain! Amazing read!

At the beginning of the book I already freaked out to see Adrian and Kirill in a fight, I enjoyed seeing his side with his brothers. Then we have him getting shot and all that craziness, I imagined a thousand things but Rina really surprised me with the book and I love that. Kirill 90% of the book was evil, he really is a monster and he was a liar. And I love every second, I like real villains. There are books that say that man is bad and he doesn't keep what he promises. He really is a monster but he is my monster. He's going to have to make up to Sasha a lot. I don't accept criticism of Sasha kkkk I love her so much she's amazing already in my RK top Her sweetness, her determination, makes me cry 😭 I love her already. How I love a character yes I am like that Of course, sometimes I want to kill her, but she's my baby Sasha is a strong woman, I don't accept being talked down to. She's loyal and she's been through hell, Kirill was her only selfish choice and she threw herself and I don't accept talking bad about her. I know in book 3 she will destroy his life. I'm ready for this This book made me so happy reading it until I smiled, got upset and screamed Rina kent got it right again can't wait to read the next one I'm counting down the days. “I want an explanation about the wedding I smiled like an idiot when they got married to be a lie” I will kill Kirill, I swear. Lies of my monster

Manipulation at its best where the lines between truth and lie are more than blurry, all through beautiful writing, perfect humour, and a crazy story line.

Amazing amazing just amazing.. book ends with a nail biting cliffhanger. Can't wait to read the next one. Sasha is inspiring

They two have my heart love them
