Good, but needs better stitching
Bought these a couple months ago and used them several times during hunting season. They certainly do a great job of keeping your toes warm at almost any temperature. And they feel pretty comfortable to walk in, at least for short distances. However, after only half dozen uses, I’m seeing the pocket for the battery becoming unstitched on both socks. I included a picture where I’m sticking my finger in one of the holes that’s already formed. It took a little more effort than it should have, but customer service did eventually resolve things. They are good socks and really work, but I remain a bit nervous about their length of life.

One battery can't hold a charge
I have had these for a year and used them for one winter. This winter, one battery only works for a half an hour. The other works for hours. I have used both socks the same amount.UPDATE: I contacted Snow Deer and they gave me a full refund. I changed my rating from a 1 to 4 to reflect great customer service.

They work as advertised
I've had my socks for almost a year and have used them at least 30 times. I prefer to wear mine at the medium setting and also a thin liner sock over them to help keep the heat in. Customer service is quick to respond and cordial. Batteries and chargers are included. Handy box to store them. Good purchase.

On the coldest horseback ride of my life, these things kept me alive....at least in the toes!
I bought these things as a late night impulse purchase. Not going to lie....kind of pricey just to keep the feet warm. My husband grumbling the whole time about it as I reminded him my blood flow is horrible to my toes. He let it go eventually, and I'm thankful he did.WELL, I decided to pop them on just before an early morning horseback ride at only 17 degrees with the wind blowing around 35mph. The only smart decision i made as i left in jeans, a columbia jacket, baseball hat, and a scarf. Everyone else showed up in coveralls and winter coats. I noticed immediately after we took off on our horses around 3am that the wind was biting cold. I mean within minutes every part of my body was numb. I lost feeling in my cheeks, lips and ears, and had to wrap my scarf several times around my head quickly. I knew the next two hours was going to be rough. Ten minutes in, my hips and butt were frozen to the saddle and aching so bad from the chill---to the bone pain. An hour in, I became quite dizzy from the chill and felt like going to sleep or falling from the horse. At this point I stopped talking to others as I feared they would catch on to my demise and make me turn around or call an ambulance. After laughing at me some I imagine. I was one of the youngest of the group and clearly the least prepared (except for my socks and scarf) so I stubbornly refused to quit. I made the ride, but by the time we got off our horses I couldn't feel my backside, hips, thighs, arms, hands, and face. The only reason my hands didn't have frostbite is because I intermittently would have to stick them against the skin off my bare chest. Talk about cold touch. For five hours after I sat trying to warm up after, involuntarily shivering in the heat as the cold drew away from my bones. The people in the group asked if I was going to be ok. I pondered my life choices for a while. I thought about how cold I was and what parts of my body weren't hurting so horribly bad as they warmed up. I pondered the parts that didnt ache and it was then I realized that just my toes and feet were HOT. Like really, really warm. I hadn't even thought about them the entire way. Usually, my toes are the first thing to hurt. It was just so miserable that i hadnt realized how good my feet were really feeling. There was one part of me that could keep going for hours more--- My feet! I believe to this day the heat generated from those socks kept me awake and going for the ride instead of slumped over my horse as my friends would've likely called for help after taking a picture of my dumb self. So thank you, socks. It's not our little secret anymore but it's real as it comes. On a side note, if you want your socks to last for longer then put them in a lower setting. On high these bad boys lasted just over two hours but I'm thankful they did. Saved my hide that day. Also, if you're wondering....yes, I learned my lesson.

Plusses and minuses of Snow Deer socks after two months of use
I purchased these socks in October, and have been using them for two months as I write this review. The warmth they generate is good, but there are also things I don't like about them as noted in this review.I read reviews and product descriptions for about a dozen electric socks. These socks are more expensive than a good number of other electric socks, but they have two features that others did not. I selected these socks because they have the heating elements both on the top and on the bottom of the toe area (unlike many socks that only heat the top or the bottom of the food, and often not in the toe area).A secondary consideration was that these socks are not one-size-fit-all, but come in small, medium and large sizes. I picked Medium and they fit my 7.5 shoe size foot pretty well toe to heel. However, the top of the sock (the calf area) is too tight and the sock slides down as I wear it. I have average size calves, I never have issues with socks or boots being too tight except for these socks. The heat in these socks has three settings high, medium, and low. I start out on high and in about 5 minutes switch to low. The low setting generates pleasant warmth, I can wear socks all day long as I work at my desk. I don't need to remove them from overheating as I had to do in the past when I used electric Mastex booties (ASIN B00KH6QHCM). When I was using Mastex booties I had to turn them off after 30 minutes as they become uncomfortably hot. Then after a bit turn them on again. The button that turns the sock on and off is in the logo that appears on the battery pocket. The manual does not show where the button is. The logo changes colors based on the setting: red LED indicates high setting, blue LED is medium, and WHITE is low setting. To turn them off I need to hold the button for a few seconds until LED turns off. When set to a low setting I get enough battery juice to wear the socks all day long. Once I tried sleeping with them, but the battery on the side of the sock creates an uncomfortable bump. Before buying the socks I made sure that I can buy replacement batteries for Snow Deer socks and found the Amazon carries them at $40 for two batteries: ASIN B07HJ3ZZ5MBottom line: good but not perfect. We keep the house fairly cool in the winter, and my feet always get painfully cold. These socks resolved the problem better than other solutions I have tried before. On the negative side, the socks are too narrow at the top and not comfortable for an average size calf. The poor fit in the calf drops my evaluation by a star from five-star socks to four-star socks.Ali Julia review
