The Key to Rebecca by Ken Follet - A Superb Novel
The screenshot of the novel is World War-II, battle between Allied Force and Axis Force in Africa. Romel, head of axis force, was getting vigorously ahead based on the secret informations of british army, supplied by one German spy code named Sphinx. This spy is crude, shrewd, and determinant to win his goal by hook ot crook. British army intelligence office Major Vandam, posted in Cairo, is continuously seraching for his trail but no use. The spy is transmitting all secret informations through his own radio system, language coded on the book "Rebecca". But how he is getting all these top secret war-planning informations? Is there any leak in british army, or, it is the result of the brilliant planning by Sphinx? Major Vandam only knows the future of the battle is depending to spot & stop the spy, along with the radio as well as the "Rebecca".Ultimately what happened when Axis force is about to enter into Cairo? Yes, the novel has given me the answer. A fantastic thriller on Military Intelligence pictured on the canvas of Egypt during world war II.

Brilliant; Enthralling !
Ke Follet's inimitable style of writing is highly engrossing. A simple story with Follet's formidable writing skill is an edge of the seat thriller. Very difficult to put it down. A must read.

Breath holding narrative
One of the best novel I have read. At the end of some chapters we get so much engrossed in the book. Only when some feeling that we are reading a book brings us out of engrossment. Author has succeeded in holding reader's breath.

Not brillient like other Ken Follett's work
I am a huge Ken Follett's fan and expecting something on the same lines but it was not up there. I liked the way Egypt has been portrayed in this but that's it...Looking forward to move on to his next work.

Not extraordinary but good enough
Not as tight as the eye of the needle ... but definitely a good read for thriller enthusiasts ... 4/5

Terrific Page Turner
What a gripping read it was. Terrific page turner that makes it difficult to put down. Makes me dig deep into how Cairo used to look like in 1940s. Very interesting read.

Read it to value WW2 Egypt ,Rommel
Follett at his best better than those huge epic storys people like. This is Rommel,Cairo,WW2,Romance,Betrayal,Tension , Absolutely thrilling page turner, and information about Rommel desert campaign. Who does not like Alistair MacLean,Colin Forbes,Frederick Forsyth at their best with WW novels ,well this is as good and do read eye of the needle, similar and wonderful! Happy Reading

Good reading
In the later part of the book monologues by the characters are very lengthy and unnecessary. When Wolffe is travelling in train with the child and lady.

Very good read
A classic Ken Follett novel. Easy to read, grabs you at the beginning and carries you along effortlessly. World War 11, set in Cairo, this spy novel is relevant today. It is one of his older novels but still very good. Recommend.
