Excellent quality tool for the price; it worked perfectly and made the job very easy. I highly recommend it.

Well made, precise, and affordable.
This product works perfectly. Tolerances were awesome (swapping older Rockshox and installing a new Rockshox/SRAM Recon silver). These were not loose or wiggly at all. After trimming steerer tube, the outer shell would NOT fit unless I diligently deburred and cleaned up the cut (which is a good thing). Inner punch fits nice and snugly within the collar. This feels really well made and precise. I have no idea how to compare it to a Park Tool or the like but I find no need to find better renditions of this tool.

Nice star nut tool!
Awesome tool to perfectly install star nut into 1 1/8" standard size steer tube of forks found on most modern mountain bikes. If you're installing a star nut, probably means you've got a new fork so I'd definitely look for one of the tools to help you cut the steer tube before you ruin an expensive fork!

Very well made tool for the Price, but missing pieces.
For the price, this is a very well made tool, which makes the job of installing 1 1/8" headsst star nuts very easy. Ad clearly states that tool comes with 2 replacement center screws (I think they mean one plus a spare) but mine came with no replacement screw. I scheduled a return and ordered a replacement; it too came with only one screw, so it would appear they commonly ship that way. Contacted seller, who has promised to ship a spare to me; we'll see if it happens. Other than that, it is the best star nut tool I've found.

Got yah!!
Worked as it should and made the job of installation an easy one. No complaints and great to know I have this in my bike tool box!

It has one job, and it does it perfectly well.
This is one of those tools that more or less fall in to the Pass/fail category for me. Not complex, has a very singular and niche usage, and it either does what it is supposed to or it doesn't.In this case, it does exactly what it is supposed to. In my personal case I used it to set a star-nut in a Manitou mezzer pro fork. Sleeve fit perfectly but a little snug around the steer tube, and the insertion depth using the tool was identical to the insertion depth on my stock from the factory fork. In general the biggest risk would be deforming the silver cylinder (which is why you would usually use a synthetic hammer for this) but even using a metal hammer (I'm lazy, they are faster) the cylinder had no mushrooming at the head. All in all, I can't see *any* reason to buy a more expensive version of this tool for home use. Maybe long term if you are installing hundreds of star nuts it would start to show more wear than a more expensive version, but if you just need something to do work on your home bikes, this will do exactly what you want it to do at an incredibly reasonable price.

Very high quality
I just bought a new Fox fork and needed to install a star nut. My biggest concern was in getting the nut hammered in straight. I looked at others and this looked to be the best one for the price. The PT version was just too expensive since I'll only be using this very rarely. I was pleasantly surprised by how high quality this was. Due to the gaskets on the inside of the tool it slide perfectly on my forks steerer tube without any play or slop at all. It is a extremely precise fit so the gaskets grab a little so you just have to be patient and put it over the tube slightly slow and not just slam it on. I saw some others mention that they used a light coat of grease to help it go over their steerer. I didn't need to use any grease but I can see how that would make it easier if someone was having trouble getting it on their fork. I just used my soft faced mallet and gave it about four or five good whacks and the star nut was seated perfectly. I used a caliper to measure how far down it was in the steerer tube and it was the same distance as the star nut that was in the Fox fork that came with my bike. The nut was straight and everything went smooth. My fork came with a star nut included so I used that but I looked at the star nuts included with this tool and they look and feel as high quality as the star nut that Fox included. I'm very happy with this purchase even though I will barely get any use out of the tool.

Poor quality control.
The driving pin doesn’t fit into the sleeve which rendered the whole tool essentially useless. It’s seems I was one of the few who ended up with a garbage product which received no quality control. I would have returned it but I was trying to put a new fork on my bike in time for a planned ride. I got it to work eventually but I had to hone out the inside of the sleeve quite a bit, and it wasn’t an easy process. Don’t buy this until they decide to QC their stuff or you may find yourself massively infuriated like I was.
