Beautifully made in rolled gold. What is Rolled Gold? Patented in England in 1817, it became a prime source for semi-precious jewelry in the Victorian era. Rolled Gold is a thin sheet of gold which is mechanically bonded to either brass or copper, before the jewellery is made. It is at least 5% of the thickness, this gives a wonderful finish to the pocket watch chain, and considering a solid gold Albert would costs 20x the amount We can see why it was so popular in Edwardian and Victorian times for creating pocket watches and chains. Not to be confused with Gold Plated products, where the a very small amount of gold is plated over another metal by an electrical process. Rolled Gold looks wonderful, very near the look of solid gold. It was very widely used in Victorian Replace the standard trouser pocket chain that came with your pocket watch and get the traditional chain in waistcoat look. The T bar passes through one of your buttonholes and the pocket watch sits in your waistcoat pocket. This is the traditional way to wear a pocket watch and has looked great for 100s of years.

This chain is very decent quality for the price and has a good sized T bar that fastens nicely in a button ...
I got this for my 1907 Waltham pocket watch - having got a couple of dressy waistcoats recently. The original chain is lost. This chain is very decent quality for the price and has a good sized T bar that fastens nicely in a button hole + the clasp that affixes to the watch is substantial and works well.Chain looks good per se but is quite a rosey gold, unlike the picture promoting the item. I wouldve preferred a more yellowy gold to match the watch. In summary- good value, decent watch chain but note it's not as yellow as the picture indicates.
