Brother’s best friend
Re-read for rerelease!Boyd and Fiona and so good together!I’m a sad girlie always and there is so much angst in this book! I love watching characters that learn to live through each other.Boyd is one of those broody dark guys that you kept help but want to learn everything about. He’s running from the life he grew up in and only wants to make sure he never has to go back to that.Fiona is fiesty and but she needed a firm hand to settle her mind. And one of my favorites, she’s been in love with her brother’s best friend for so long…ugh I love that storyline. I love getting to see their live story after reading about them in V&V

Boyd and Fiona
Really enjoyed the third installment of Kings Trace Antihero’s!This forbidden romance, brother’s best friend, secret crush between Boyd and Fiona was extremely hot! May have been my favorite of these three. Love that all of Sav’s books are interconnected, the continual growth of each character adds the intrigue of her next read.Emotions were all over the board in this one, be prepared for triggers, make sure to read the list because I was laughing, crying, frustrated (in all the good ways), and pissed off all in one book!Great way to end this trilogy and a wonderful interlude to her Monsters and Muses series!! Great read!

Wow wow wow. Warning, spoilers ahead:I found the author through social media. She's a newer author, and I'm not a fan of how she tells a story, i found how she ends scenes very confusing. However, I really like how she writes certain big moments, and people. The BD.SM relationship had some of the best written moments I've seen.HERE'S THE PROBLEM! Boyd is TERRIBLE! He's a horrible communicator, he completely ignores consent when it comes to Fiona and birth control, yet doesn't let any of her "wrongs" go. He somehow thinks they are bad for each other? When they aren’t, but he doesn’t know that because they don't communicate. He hides his secrets, and when she RIGHTLY calls him on it, he shuts her out. She tried to fix things! But instead he took off for months! But the worst thing is he leaves Fiona in the hands of a r@pist and human trafficker, where her life was actually in danger! You are supposed to care more about the people you LOVE!And he only mildly feels bad about it, but she has to make up for things for life! I actually vomited in my mouth skimming that make up scene.

A Wonderful Surprise (but take the trigger warning seriously)
I actually didn't think I'd like this. When I saw that it had mafia themes, I didn't want to read it. But I had read an excerpt from the author on instagram so I figured I'd give it a shot and I'm so happy I did! It's the first book in the trilogy that I've read. It has a trigger warning for good reason. I had a tough time reading it but honestly, the points of trauma and loss, coping and healing were the absolute best parts. I'm a huge romance junkie and I was attracted to it because I was interested in the romance from the piece I had previously read. Well, it definitely has good steamy scenes and that, in any other book, would likely be the biggest strength but the true gem of this book really is the coping/healing from the trauma and loss the characters face. I strangely identified with multiple aspects of these characters and what they were going through and it actually helped me find tidbits that I thought helped explain a few things to myself. The plight of Fiona in particular was heart-rending for me and it's really nice to see someone like that reach a happy ending. Gives me a bit of hope, you know? It was intelligently written and had a great, logical portrayal of the characters and the mental illnesses they struggle with. I doubt I've seen another character written as well as Fiona was. All in all, use caution because it has a truly huge range of triggers that could be horrible for people who are struggling but personally, I loved this book. I'm not sure I can recommend it simply because of those triggers/subject matters (you never want to assume what people are going through and accidently harm them by exposing them to their trigger) but the story is truly compelling and I honestly am happy I picked it up. I can tell that I will reread it often.

Hello lovelies 🖤 just finished my first book on my TBR list and let me just say, WOW. This book! 😍
Sweet Sacrifice by @srmauthorTrope: brother's best friend4.5 ⭐⚠️please note that this is a dark romance. It involves topics that may be triggering for some audiences. (Childhood abuse, SA)Fiona, princess to one of the most powerful families in town, has to constantly be the face of perfection. Calm. Poised. Unshakeable. For years she has had an ungodly crush on her older brothers best friend, boyd. Though she never thought he noticed the stolen glances and nervousness that over took her whenever he was around, he finally did.Though this book is full of all the hot scenes you love to indulge in, the author finds the perfect way to bring real life - relatable subjects into light. As a person that suffers heavily from Anxiety, I could relate really well to Fiona's character and struggles.I love that Fiona and Boyd aren’t the perfect characters. They learn to love not only each other but themselves through some of the most heart wrenching moments. This is book that has it all: pain, drama, heat 🔥, love, perseverance and strength! If you’re looking for a dark, brother’s best friend romance this is one to read!Bookstagram: @bookswithlovie

Intense
This book is an incredible insight into the why and how of Riley's famlily dynamics and history (Vipers and Virtuosos, Monster and Muses serie). Fiona and Boyd are even more intense and matched. Enjoy !

Sweet sacrifice
Wow, what an amazing improvement in the crafting of the story when compared to book 1 and 2. I don’t even feel like I’m reading the same author. Now *this* is the book you want to read as a reader. It starts with a punch. The unnecessary and confusing number of side characters that you see in book 1 in particular have been knocked right down to only essential side characters who lend something to the story. There is tension between the lead characters, there’s depth to their individual personalities, there’s interesting dynamics with their families and there is spice. I did find bits of it a bit hard to take though - the hero’s treatment of his sister, in particular, is horrible given he himself had been abused by his mother - so to leave a child back because of his petty issues was unconscionable. Equally what he does in the climax to the heroine - *knowingly* leaving her with his sister’s rapist just because he thinks she’s on a date with him - is terrible!! I mean who does that to a stranger much less the supposed love of your life who doesn’t even know she’s in danger with that man? I don’t believe a possessive alpha who loves his h would do that. That said, she’s not much better - she doesn’t fight for him when he’s really at his lowest. Also, it’s a very slow burn and the scene where they finally do it is a bit anticlimactic since it’s a bit rushed and in the dark and doesn’t have much build up (though the other scenes in the lead up are hot). All in all, If you are trying to start with a book from this author, I would actually recommend starting with this one and only then going back to the others because if you start with book 1 and dislike it, you would be missing out on the experience of book 3 which is where the author really comes into her own.

Way better than I was expecting
Is this book perfect? No. Is this MUCH, MUCH BETTER than other books in this genre with thousands of 5 star reviews? YES!!!There were no typos, no one-dimensional characters, the writing was excellent and the sexual chemistry was hot. I felt a lot of the action was skipped over, but maybe I'd have felt differently about this if I'd read the first two books as I think the scenes are similar.I feel there is so much more to explore with this couple and that the book could have cut out a lot of the unnecessary 'on and off' of their relationship. It should have focused on developing their relationship more in depth instead. That being said, I loved the connection between the characters and I loved the touches of graphic violence as they made this book interesting. I'm a fan of dark romance so if that isn't for you, steer clear.I will remember this book unlike a lot of other romances I read and I think it deserves a LOT more hype. Justice for Fiona and Boyd! Way better than series such as Endgame by Skye Warren, and that has 14,000 ratings instead of 300.Thank you to the author for this wonderful book.
