Good bright Torch, which will last for ages on one set of batteries
There are good reasons to buy this, apart from just having light when you need it. It takes three D cells which will last for ages. I used this torch during a powercut at night. Had it switched on for several hours tailstanding as a lamp in my living room. Almost a year later the same batteries are still in the torch. Loads of juice left. 'D' cells are not expensive and easily available. Torch is a good weight in the hand. A solid batton feel. In an emergency situation you could break glass with the rear end (that is not an advertised feature, simply a fact). I certainly wouldn't want to be hit in the head with this thing. It has one setting 168 lumens, Which is very decent. This will light up a large room in darkness. It also has forward momentary activation on the switch. Which means the light comes on with a half press of the button. Good for signalling if you know morse code. There many other torches around with many more features, but I've illustrated the selling points of this 3D Cell LED Maglite above.

Best Torch among others so far
had it for over a year. I like the fact this torch while good hold and feel quite durable, I left it on all night ..you can stand it up like a lamp. Use it as morning get dark. battery is very good still strong no dim at all. This worth it price for getting full use include able to use as stand! Turn out in these times It good to have this kind of torch with you.

Immense Torch.
Great torch. Build quality is excellent, range is fantastic and the look of the torch is fantastic. Has a really solid feel to the item. This item is excellent for in the house but also on the job, can take a battering and still work. The only downside of the torch is the finish of the torch its the type where if you bash it against the side it will scratch which will be immediately noticeable. Battery life is good but my favourite thing about the torch is the range absolutely love the range the light projects. The Torch is a must buy if you're looking for a torch that can be used in pretty much most situations.

brilliant, especially at £26
i always thought maglites were overpriced, but i bought a 2D one last year and it convinced me of their quality, not sure i would have bought one at full price,(was 37 quid in screwfix and about 22 on amazon) but glad i got one, took it in a local cave and it was incredible , i was so glad, that when i saw this 3d for £26, no more powerful but a vastly extended battery life, i had to give in,so i keep one in the car and one in the house for tracking down errant cats etc, proved invaluable in the power cuts we have had in the storms lately, put one on its end so the light reflects off the ceiling and it lights the whole room to a usable level

Very bright, but a little bulky
Maglites have always impressed me with their quality, durability and great luminosity. I purchased this particular model after being recommended by a friend (who incidentally upgraded his using the LED upgrade kit). Once I saw this one come with the LED already built in, I didn't hesitate to buy it. The torch has a nice balance to it and has a very impressive brightness, perfect for camping trips and digging out those lost tools which are lurking in the darkest corner of the garden shed. The use of LEDs in the torch allows for a very impressive lumen rating as well as provide much better battery life in comparison to a standard filament bulb found in the older models. This torch has served me well for the past 2-3 years and I'm sure it will continue to for many, many years to come without a doubt. My only niggle is the size and weight of the object in comparison to some smaller torches available on the market nowadays. I've since purchased a LED Lenser torch, which admittedly are a little pricier, but for the sheer reduction in size and weight without the sacrifice of brightness are fantastic.Overall I don't think you can go wrong purchasing this torch. It is fantastically durable, hard to lose, very bright and reasonably priced.

In terms of engineering and functionality it is fantastic.
For a while I've had to make do with mediocre torches and always been of the opinion that it's not worth spending money one something that would never see the light of day but this was a good investment. It's amazingly bright with the LED and the batteries last a while. When fitted with batteries there is a certain weighty feel to the torch which is reassuringly and the build quality feels great in hand. For me this is probably the perfect size in terms of weight distribution when holding it over or under arm. Being able to focus the light or disperse it more by twisting the ring at the front is a great idea. Perfect for looking through small gaps and using when exploring buildings and larger areas. In terms of engineering it is fantastic. It looks great and feels great. Even when fitting the batteries screwing and unscrewing the batter door at the base of the torch handle is an experience. It's not a cheaply made torch, at least it doesn't feel that way. The thread is perfect when you are screwing the battery cover back on. Small things big impressions. When I took it in to work the guys were in admiration and some went as far as to say that they would update their old bulb Maglites by getting the LED filament instead. All in all, it is a high quality product.

Stunning and astonishingly powerful
I did quite a bit of research before forking out a sizeable amount for this torch. The silver ones seem quite hard to find in the UK, but are stunning if you can get one. I am really taken aback by the power of this torch - I tried it out of a window initially and thought there was something weird going on as things I had never noticed before were lit up - but I kept testing it over larger distances and it's really very impressive - 400m or so with ease.I went for the 3D Cell model as this seems to have massive advantages over the 2D Cell model in terms of battery life and range.Really impressed and amazing how much you can get from an LED bulb these days :)
