Swiss Standard Gauge Private Railways Dvd Swizerland is a fascinating country for the railway fan. A vast network of lines seem to litter the countryside and they are by no means all controlled by a central authority. Many of them are privately owned and all of them have their own special character. Nearly all of them have their own livery, locomotives and rolling stock. This documentary is presented as a tour of the standard gauge private railways of Switzerland. There are no less than twenty-five of them in total from the mighty Bern-Lotschberg-Simplon to the diminutive Lausanne-Ouchy. This dvd also scales the heights of the imposing Rigi and takes a driver's eye view of the soaring viaducts of the Bodensee-Toggenburg. There is a little live steam and a lot of diverse action all set in Switzerland's magnificent scenery.
