This book gave me so much more than I thought. It was an amazing true story of two strong women who will inspire everyone. It was exciting and uplifting to read. I have gifted this to many of my friends and family who love it as much as I do. Worth every penny!

The book s a true story of Queena, a young lady who lives in my area, Tampa, Florida. She is the Bloomingdale Library attack survivor which changed her life and the lives of her family forever. The book details Queena's traumatic injuries and fight for survival as well as the years of physical therapy. With the love and excellent care of her mother and sister she has shown some improvement over the years. The book also tells of her mother's journey to America from Vietnam years before Queena was born. Vanna Nguyen, the mother, is the author of the book, which is very well-written. It is a wonderful story about their lives and all they have been through up to life for them today. I highly recommend the book.

I ordered this book for myself and then ordered 2 copies to share with others. Vanna's story of the tragic attack on her daughter Queena is an inspiring story of faith, hope and perseverance to overcome great obstacles. Vanna also shares her own story of her escape from her native Vietnam and the hardships she endured there as well as her living in the USA and having her two daughters Anna and Queena.She also shares her strong faith in God and forgiveness towards Queena's attacker and coming to accept that her daughter will very likely never make a full recovery from the brain injuries suffered in the attack.All in all an inspiring and excellent book that everyone should read

What a phenomenal book! It’s a MUST READ! I lived in Tampa in 2008 when this horrific attack occurred and over the years I had wondered about and prayed for Queena even though I didn’t know her identity. When her family made the decision to make her identity public, I followed her on social media and I pre ordered thIs book as soon as it was available. The story that Vanna tells in her memoir truly is a present day example of God “giving beauty for ashes” (Isa. 61:3). I am so thankful that Vanna answered God’s calling to write this book because her family’s story not only offers encouragement through difficult circumstances, it points people to our true sustainer - Jesus Christ!

This book is amazing! The story takes you through the terror of that night, the relentless struggle to recover, and the aftermath of lives changed forever. The author’s openness about her feelings of fear, anger, grief, and retribution cut to the core. But through it all, you come to see her incredible strength and hope. This is a story of inspiration, of never giving up, and a mother’s selfless love.
