Works well
Water butt came promptly. When unpacking careful not to lose rubber washers for tap. Very easy to assemble. To prevent tap leaking, I put plumber's grease on the thread and the washer, and screwed tight to the butt.I made a slight mistake when connecting the drainpipe converter by putting it too high. There was no problem filling, but the height of diverter pipe was above the top of the butt, so the overflow would go over the top of the butt instead of down the drainpipe. The diverter pipe connection to the drainpipe needs to be above butt inlet but below top of the butt. See photos. Otherwise all good no leakage. It filled up in a day with very mild rain.I was worried about 3 piece stand as being unstable, but it was fine, no problems. Very pleased with it.

Superior Quality At A Good Price
I found this product to be superior to my Strata/Ward 100 ltr butt for several reasons:The 3-part stand is moulded with angled stiffeners and does not buckle when full. The tap (although not a fast-flow because the hose fit connection makes it narrower) operates much more smoothly than my other tap.The Floplast diverter is designed primarily for squareline downpiping, but will fit round-sectioned piping with no modification. In my opinion it is a more secure and tidier fit. Both ports (on either side of the butt) are already cut for the filler tube, and blanked off. So no need for any cutting. I did find that when absolutely full, the unused (blanked) hole does drip a little, so I fitted the spare sealing ring (originally blanking off the tap port) around it, after applying some silicone sealant.Unfortunately, Straght plc/Evengreener don't appear to sell the 3-part stand separately, so I ordered their one-piece stand for my Ward butt directly from the seller (not currently available on Amazon).

Excellent small water butt - hard to fit diverter
Purchased this as have no outside tap and was fed up going in and out of kitchen with a watering can. Plus some new plants I bought only like rainwater so thought "get a water butt". Item arrived very quick. No packaging as such just wrapped in plastic. Unpacked and decided positioning - next to my down pipe off the end of my kitchen extension - perfect place just near the drain. Read instructions for fitting rainwater diverter. However, could not get brackets off the downpipe due to the screws being "welded" in. As I had two other brackets holding the downpipe I decided to cut through the bracket in the middle. Did this easily. Measured according to instructions and cut out the required piece of pipe. However, you then have a problem. My pipe did come out from the top but when put inside the diverter you have too much "pipe" to put back in. Decided to do what someone else commented on and actually pull the bottom piece of pipe outwards and forcefully get the top piece to go in. This actually worked with a bit of pressure and thankfully the pipe did not snap. Put all the rest of the pieces into place and connected up with the tube. Fitted the tap with no problems. I think you have to start the tap off at just the right spot on the butt so that when it is just tightened it is in the correct position. Mine went in fine and did not leak (I tested this by putting a bit of water into the butt). The butt sits nicely up against the side of my extension. The lid is extremely hard to get off and to put on you need to give it a thump. However, better it sits snug than too loose. I also purchased rainwater treatment to keep my butt nice and fresh (water one that is.......) and am now awaiting the rain which is forecast for tomorrow to see if all works correctly. It was a little bit of hard work fitting the diverter but now it is done I am very pleased with myself for attempting this and it was quite easy really. I am a woman of 58 years old and if I can do this with not too much difficulty then most other people should be able to as well. I am very pleased with this water butt and depending on how quickly it fills I may purchase another and connect it to this one to give me double the rainwater.Update: Heavy shower today 20/4/14 and water butt filled by about 9-10". Not bad for a quick shower and I have obviously fitted the diverter correctly.HOWEVER, not sure why this product has gone up so dramatically in price. When I purchased on 16/4/14 it was £19.99 with free delivery which was good value. It is now £28.99. Either Amazon made a mistake with original pricing or they are cashing in as I cannot see why this justifies a £9 price rise in just over a week??

100L Mini Water Butt - Ideal for Shed Use
I purchased this for using with a new shed, thought great way of keeping water from shed guttering going into garden and where not wanted.I was surprised at first when opening the box as thought there was no stand for it. Opening the water butt lid found the base to be inside it. Was imagining the base to be one solid piece not separate ones, comes in three parts the base does and the butt just sits on top of them. Not got water in it yet but on the looks of it it seems to be just the thing for collecting the water and then enabling me to use it for watering plants near the shed. Will update review in a week or so when rainfall more and being out in sun (hopefully) to see how it fairs. One thing at least saved trying to fit it into the car as delivered in a box and undamaged thankfully.Seems the ideal size for being near a shed and not taking over the whole area, but so useful for water for garden use etc. If this wears well will think about getting one for duck house for collecting water there too. But need a while and different weather temperatures to see how all the seal bits and plastic wears, will update on that too.Update. Well rained and yes it has collected it and no leaks, just had to remember to turn the tap off first though otherwise I would have lost any caught water which would have kind of defeated the object of it. Pleased with it and another one more than likely to be ordered.

Easy to install
Firstly a disclaimer - in skill level I'm somewhere in between DIYer and professional tradie, so I've got a fair bit of experience and skill when it comes to putting things like this together.I had no problems with the base - yes it's a bit fiddly but it helps if you assemble it where you are going to place the butt rather than making it and then carrying it around. The 3 parts actually work to your advantage as they help to account for uneven ground so you don't end up with a butt that rocks.I didn't use the water diverter - I've got white downpipes so I purchased a white diverter from elsewhere on Amazon. The pre-drilled hole in the top made it easy to install, but I did use my own rubber o-rings rather than the ones provided because the ones provided seemed a bit too stiff for my liking and I wasn't confident in their ability to crush and create a good seal. I've had no leaks. The tap was a screwfit and I left the seal on that - others have mentioned having a wonky screw thread but mine was straight and the tap went in without issue, and after 2 weeks is showing no signs of leakage. All in all I'm very pleased with the whole ensemble. The tap is smooth enough for my grandchildren to use and I'm doing my tiny bit to reduce water consumption in my household! And being a slimline 100l model it fits nicely and isn't obtrusive.

Excellent Quality, very robust.
100l water butt.Made from recycled plastic this compact water butt is a nice size for a small garden. The kit contains everything you require. The stand, A diverter kit to allow automatic filling from a plastic downpipe, the butt itself and of course the tap.The butt is made from robust green plastic with a tight-fitting lid. All the holes required are already there with secure plastic stoppers. The stand is black plastic and easily assembled. it is worth making sure that the surface you are putting it on is flat before you start as that can lead to problems later. The tap screws in easily and is easy to operate. when the butt is full it gives a good flow. I have not noted any leakage. The tap is moulded to allow it to attach to a hosepipe fitting, this is very handy as I can use it to directly water my greenhouse (as long as I don't raise the hose too high). The directions for fitting the diverter were easy enough to follow but I did find it a bit of a faff trying to get the level right. Too high and the butt will overflow, too low and it will not fill. I am not especially DIY savvy and I was well out of my comfort zone with this. It seems to be working very well now though.I am really happy with this.

Not impressed
Why on earth does it not include an easy way to make a hole in the lid for the down-pipe? Having to cut through thick plastic was very frustrating and potentially hazardous. It took over 30 mins to cut through, in the process cracking some of the surrounding plastic. An removable insert could have been easily included in the design instead of making the customer suffer! A shame as the Butt itself is good quality for the money but seriously let down by this design flaw.

Great price, great quality.
Really happy with these. I bought two and a connecting kit. The base is one piece, it's lightweight but sturdy enough on a flat surface to hold the butt. When empty it feels like it might blow over, however it seemed to hold it's own on the windy weekend I put them up. It was really easy to attach the first butt to the drainpipe, you will need a hacksaw to cut through the drainpipe, but that's the only tool you'll be using. The plugs all popped out easily and the tap screwed in tightly and using the rubber washer provided made a good seal. It's been set up for a couple of weeks now and there's no leaking. Connecting the two butts was just as simple, just pop out the rubber bungs and screw the tube in place. The tube I got was a little long, but I've just moved the butts apart a bit further so that it sits straight. I had a weekend of non stop rain (not particularly heavy) and it filled the first butt and half of the second butt in that time, so it doesn't take long to fill them. I may get a third one in time to join just to add to the capacity. They are slim enough to move fairly easily, even when full I could shuffle into a better position. I didn't want the really big fat ones, these ones are tall and slim and bit more elegant (well in as much as a water butt can be). I am very happy with these purchases and the price I thought was really good for the quality. Would definitely recommend.

What it says on the box.
Another good experience with Amazon products. An ingenious yet simple attachment to the gutter's down pipe and you have a plentiful supply of rainwater for your plants as long as we get the rain which we have not for the last 2 months where I live in London. You only need a hacksaw and a few simple tools and it's straight forward to set up.Very handy if you are on a water meter as you no longer need to use a hose attached to the mains supply. Connect the hose instead to the tap that comes with this water butt and as long as the water does not have to travel uphill gravity will deliver rainwater to where you need it. Plants thrive much better with rain water than with tap water as any gardener will tell you. A simple mechanical or electrical water pump will enable you to use this system as a normal garden hose.A strong quality product at a very reasonable price.

Tall and slim takes up little space
Does the job nicely, The base is a bit flimsy so in the end I didn't use it. It has a slightly flat bottom and does stand along, although I put a metal strap around it and screwed it to a wall to stop it falling over, if knocked. I would not have it as a 'stand alone' butt without its base or being secured to something particularly with children about. The 100 litre butt filled up in two days of rain from a very small roof. I'm very happy with it, the tap fitted ok I sealed the tap fitting with silicone to avoid any leaks as some water butt taps do and I've had no problems after a couple of month now

The complete solution to saving water for use in your garden.
This particular water butt comes with everything you need to connect it to the down pipe from the guttering and has pre formed threaded holes for the fixing of the tap that is also included. The only slight problem is the sturdiness of the stand which comes in three parts. This is obviously done so that it can be placed inside the water butt for transport but means the stand isn't as sturdy as a solid stand would have been although the weight of the water butt once partially filled will most likely help with its stability.

Excellent product
This is one of my very happy purchases. To start with, the delivery was much faster than expected. The water butt was very easy to assemble and install, it's been fully filled up after overnight rain and it works perfectly. We were so happy as it solved our problem of the watering plant in the garden because usually, we have to get the water from indoor. Most importantly, we can save water and reuse rainwater! I would highly recommend it.

Does the job, some caveats though
Works well but I would advise anyone fitting this to fit the connector to your drain pipe about an inch lower than the instructions say otherwise it fills the butt too much and often leaks out the spare blank at the top or the lid. Amazingly though the tap is a loose fit or looser than I'm happy with it does not leak! Any leaks can be sealed up with silicone which I recommend using on all blanks and connectors as you don't want to be messing around with it when it's full.

when my husband fixed up the rainwater butt it rained ...
when my husband fixed up the rainwater butt it rained for nearly two weeks, but now its dry and warmer we use it for our hanging basket and our indoor plants. It is just the right size for the smaller space we put it in.

Trickier to fit than expected
Good quality and nice and sturdy, although had to modify my (apparently outdated) downpipe to get it to attach, which was a pain and added to the cost. Only problem is 100l really isn’t a lot in the English climate so might need to buy another!
