Product Description NOVELISTS are a 5-piece band from Paris whose music is a pristine mix of metalcore and djent/tech-metal. They started in early 2013 when Florestan and Amael Durand met former A CALL TO SINCERITY members Matteo Gelsomino, Nicolas Delestrade and Charles-Henri Teule. Starting strong with the release of 6 singles, one every two months, which created the foundations for a loyal fan base from the get-go, NOVELISTS then released their debut album on Arising Empire / Nuclear Blast in November 2015. Rave reviews followed with Rock Sound citing it as "jam-packed with immense scope and captivating complexity", while Prog dubbed it "a masterclass in succinctness and sharp songwriting". Finally back with a follow up concept album soberly named Noir. "Noir describes the atmosphere revolving around the lyrics all the way through the album. It was important for us to find a French word as a name for the album as it is a big part of our identity, a part that we're proud of, and even though today's music industry makes it mandatory for us to sing in English, we still like putting some hints here and there." Noir is divided in 4 chapters, all of them with their own emotion, feeling, guitar tuning, and even their own production/mixing. The band says about the new album: "We have worked so hard on this record for a whole year, we wanted to make no compromise in making this album, which made the process very painful, but we couldn't be happier and proud of the end result" NOVELISTS have become, in only a few years, a rising star within the progressive metal scene, and it seems they are now ready to confirm it by releasing their highly anticipated second effort.
