Wildlife World Ceramic Swallow Bowl, natural

One of my nest had fallen down and I was worrying that when the swallows came back they wouldn't have a nest so purchased one of these..very good quality easy to install came with everything I needed and the swallows are back and now nesting

The media could not be loaded. Bought this for our resident house-martins as our house is quite exposed and last year, two of their nests fell down after wet/windy weather. Was able to rescue 3 baby birds and relocated them in an emergency makeshift nest; glad to say that their parents continued feeding them in and all 3 fledged. However 4 babies from a different nest were only a few days old when the nest fell and did not survive. Didn't want any more heartbreak this year so looked for a more permanent solution.Bought 3 of the products. Arrived well packaged and were really good quality. Please note the top is not covered and I had to make adjustments to that to fit our roof as house-martins like a closed-top nest. Added a wooden top with an overhang and painted the wooden parts to match our house colour. Looks really good in situ.Had to remove nests that the house martins were already building to fit those and was feeling really bad that I might have scared them away but was amazed to see that within a couple of hours of fitting them, we had scores of house-martins looking to move into them. The 3 nests were fully occupied within days and the birds built adjustments to the entrance with mud. We even had a couple build their own nest on the wooden part I had affixed on top of one of the nests. I am happy to report that each nest successfully hatched 2 broods of baby birds over the course of the summer which is a great success. I love them, my birds love them so very happy all around!

There were a lot of swallows in the garden so I bought this to try entice them in. It arrived in great condition, strong and sturdy. Very easy to connect to the wall. Still currently empty but we live in hope for next year!

Great house Martin nest, like others I couldn’t get it tight to the eaves due to the angle so I made a roof and screwed it to the wall just under the top of the gable wall peak. It looks great but to date house martins not showing any interest, we’ll see as I’ve put it where they’ve nested before (unfortunately nests fell off the wall and chicks died, hence why I bought this). Would definitely recommend and may end up buying more of them.

This house martin bowl is of good quality but please note it doesnot come with the screws. I thought i had house martins trying tobuild a nest in my porch but not being an expert, looked up in mybird book that they are actually swallows. Unfortunately i had alreadyordered this bowl to help them as they had tried in vain to build their nest.They tried on one wall & it fell down so they then tried the opposite wall whichalso fell down.. to my amazement they did not fly off to pastures new they triedagain on the other side of the porch & hey presto!! it finally stayed. So as faras this bowl goes im afraid i did not get to use it.. however once my swallows havefled i will leave their original nest up & also put this one up as well, so fingers crossedi will have both swallows & house martins next year. It arrived quickly & well packed too.I cant wait to see the baby swallows.. hopefully wont be too long now, they are beautiful birds& need more people to let them nest so swallows, swifts & housemartins increase in numbers :)

Purchased two. Screws were falling out of one of them. A bit shoddy. Husband replaced all the screws with stainless steel screws and added washers for security. Painted the wooden part to match our walls. Great idea. Hopefully the birds will use them. We had two nests that fell down in previous years. Horrible experiences.

I never leave reviews but I am making an exception. Firstly by using Royal Mail, the speed of delivery was faultless and ahead of schedule ( thank god you don't use Hermes!).I put them up after the birds had already returned so I wasn't expecting any trade this year but I'm delighted to say that both boxes are now in use.I was concerned about the size of the opening but that was misplaced. The product is well made, easy to put up and something I will reorder and add to the 5 nest sites we now have. With such a dry spring, the Martins have been struggling here to build nests so this is a welcome addition.

From experience, you can leave 2 or 3 cm above when installing (between top of nest and soffit board). If there is mud nearby, he house martins can build up the wall themselves if they wish and this allows them to choose where they wish to have their entrance. Fit on a N or E wall preferably under a large overhang of eves.

A neighbor callously destroyed a fully built swallow's nest last night on my property. The swallow pair were in major distress at the site of destruction. I heard their chatter and was devastated to go out and see what happened to their home, especially since it was April 1st - well into their breeding/nesting season - likely, too late for them to re-build from scratch. I felt heartbroken to see this, but was not helpless as I happened to have had a couple of these bowls in a closet. I pulled one out and installed it where their old nest used to be. The swallows fled. I watched throughout the day and saw no action and thought this was a failed effort - maybe they didn't like the manmade idea. But tonight, they were both cuddled up in this nest! YAY!!! Swallows - 1. Cruel Humans - 0. These manmade nests actually work, and I am so glad to have had some type of remedy for these beautiful birds. Fellow bird lovers - I will be installing security cameras to catch the culprit. It happened last year as well, which is why I bought these, but the industrious swallows successfully rebuilt, had three beautiful babies, and flew back to Argentina, so I didn't end up installing the manmade nests. Thank you Wildlife World for reinstating my sanity, by helping in this crisis. Until people realize that they are not the only earthlings, it's great to have an emergency shelter at hand for those in need. If I could hug the makers of this bowl, I would.

Splendido prodotto, robusto e di altissima qualità

J’avais un couple d’hirondelles rustique qui s’était reproduit dans le garage mais cette année je ne pouvais plus laisser la porte ouverte et quand elles sont revenus elles cherchaient à nicher. Alors vite le 13 avril j’ai commandé ce nid pour le mettre dans un autre appentit qui ne ferme pas celui là. Je craignais qu’il ne sente trop le neuf pour qu’elles s’installent de suite. Et bien pas du tout. Elles l’ont immédiatement investit dans ce nouveau local. Nous sommes le 19 mai , soit à peine un mois après l’avoir posé et les petits Sont déjà éclos Je suis bien contente de leur avoir permis de nidifier.
