HomComfort CIFBDR Deer Cast Iron Fireback Plates

Cracked after not even 1 month of use. The seller if horrible to get matter fix.

Description says 23 inches wide but actually 24 wide. Won't fit fireplace. Retuned.

This thing is heavy has heck. I bought it to cover up the nasty black fire brick. Thus, I cannot speak to it's heat reflective abilities. No one has noticed the decorative change however. I think the fireplace is too low to the ground (there is no raised hearth) and I'm the only one that the black brick bothered. Or, maybe black is black in decorative terms.

Lovely addition to our fireplace. I don't notice much heat radiating out into our living room, but we have vaulted ceilings so that may be part of the problem. Overall, we love the added decor.

We purchased this to cover/protect a crack in the firebox liner for our pre-fabricated fireplace insert (installed about 25 years ago, when our home was originally constructed). This fireback is VERY heavy (~40 lbs.), but does the job well -- protecting the back of the fireplace from heat/log damage, and reflecting a bit more heat into the room. The stamped deer design is nice, though not easily seen once soot accumulates as you burn fires. All-in-all, a good purchase.
