Product description No Description AvailableNo Track Information AvailableMedia Type: CDArtist: FUGSTitle: SECOND ALBUMStreet Release Date: 05/18/1994DomesticGenre: ROCK/POP .com Marginally more commercially folk-pop than their Allen Ginsberg/Harry Smith-produced debut, the Fugs were still fuzzed-out intellectuals who, loved to wallow in the sludge on this second LP from 1966, which features such social treaties as "Dirty Old Man," "Skin Flowers" and "Kill for Peace". The expanded band can even get Velvets-pretty on occasion. (Lee Crabtree plays celeste, for god's sake.) All Fugs records are essential anachro-poetic late-beat documents of core members Ed Sanders and Tuli Kupferberg, even when they slicked up for a major label. The CD includes some live tracks, as well as some outtakes from an aborted session for Atlantic. --D. Strauss

Second record plus more
This was the second LP released by the FUGS. I purchased it recently. It includes extra mateial not on the ESP lp release. My only dismay in buying this, is because the complete CD is also on the box set "Don't Stop". Had I known this, I would have just purchased the box set. I gave my copy of this to a friend, since it was the same material. If you plan on buying the box set, you will not need this, because it is all in the box set. If you are not going to buy the set, and would like to hear some Fugs classics, like Kill for Peace, Morning Morning, or "Doin' All Right"(my favorite) then get it.

A CLASSIC OF ITS KIND
A friend had given me this album many years ago when I was in my early 20's. I couldn't resist replacing my copy. This album is not for everyone but I love it. "Interesting" lyrics.

Another revolting album (in the best sense)
60s revolutionaries make another wild album. Entertaining stuff.

lots of fun
I remember when.... who cares! The album is well done and a lot of fun to listen to. Little of the 'in your face Establishment' attitude is lost over the years. If anything it's more fitting today than it was in the sixties. Buy it, crank your stereo, and have some fun!

Five Stars
Amazing Album from an amazing group. I highly recommend it if that even matters to anyone.

garage band- no car
I swapped a "nights in white satin" album for this in 1970, but I had forgotten how off the wall the Fugs were. Great to listen to and about as different as anything you"ll ever hear

What Can You Say About The Fugs...
....beside they took their name from Norman Mailer's 1948 book, The Naked And The Dead (where The Word was censored to "fug") and used it as a poke in the eye of polite society. The Fugs were messy, vulgar, subversive, hilarious and a lot of other things Amazon won't allow to be printed. This would be the perfect album for the snot rockets on your Christmas list.
