Impressed
item feels quality and wood cut is clean. everything feels intact and needles are all straight.surprised it comes with a spare set of needles. also checked the black part that other have complained about, mine seems well intact. yet to use, so hopefully it can withstand and lasts.kudos to the seller as initial delivery had a hiccup but seller sorted immediately and was very polite to talk to.

Very nice WDT Tool
This is a very nice WDT Tool and a very good value. It comes with a base that can store the WDT Tool so I can throw this in my kit bag when I travel. The handle shape is very nice...not too thick or thin...it's just right. I like the shape of the handle because you can put it down with the needles facing up and it won't tip over and roll away. It has a nice weight to it as well. The 0.35 needles are also thinner than the 0.4mm needles that many cheap WDTs come with. They have a nice flex to them and move through the finely ground espresso. I recommend removing the 4 inner needles or just using 3 in a triangle formation. At first I didn't know how to remove the needles, but I posted a question and the seller was very responsive. The seller provided a helpful tutorial video showing how to pull the needles out with a tweezer which worked perfectly. I would recommend this WDT Tool and may buy another one for my other espresso machine setup in my home office.

Disappointed but functional
The holes in the top section, one specifically was drilled twice, were not even symmetrical. The top portion wasn't sanded properly, showing lines from the sandpaper, and the 2 sections are so loosely fitted I had to put tape around the top portion so it wouldn't fall out if you looked at it funny. The design is actually nice, both the base and top can independently sit on a flat surface. This looks like someone's first lathe project, with no apparent quality control before they sent it out. Why I mention it? Because for $25 I could have bought a nice piece of walnut and turned it on my lathe better myself...and I'm no professional. I suspect I will be doing this in the future. So, does it function as intended? Well, yes. There were 10 needles as advertised, and they are held in a piece of wood spaced apart to be able to fluff the grind as it should. Well, just noticed that the top and bottom don't even match in color shade or type of sealant, poly I'm guessing. One is darker and shinier under the light. I'll use it, because I have to, but NOT worth the $25 I spent. And I'm not even that picky.

Black piece came off, cannot put back
If you look closely at the picture, there is this black piece that sits at the top of all of the needles at the intersection with the wooden base. This came off and dropped some glue in my coffee grounds. I couldn’t get it to go back on because it involves threading all of the needles through the holes in the plate, which is very difficult. Now I am using without that black piece, but doesn’t look as good.

Does what it needs to do!
Great for breaking up clumps and evening out the puck before pressing. My only wish was that it fit more snuggly into the base and it was slightly weighted. But these are munir for my needs.
