Very effective
Having used Elacin ER-20 earplugs for some time, I thought I'd give these moulded earplugs a try. I play drums, so for very loud gigs some form of ear protection is essential. To start with, the moulding procedure is absolutely critical. The instructions are clear, and if followed you should have very good results. It's important not to talk, chew, and generally keep your jaw still while the material is curing and moulding to the shape of your inner ear, otherwise the final earplug shape won't fit properly. Make sure it goes into your ear canal, but don't push too hard!I left it for 20 minutes to cure, and form a good impression of my ear. Once this is done you're left with a solid moulded earplug, which fits your ear perfectly. I didn't have a problem getting them in and out, just a little bit of twisting required. But they can be fitted in seconds. When they are in your ear they look unobtrusive, and the noise reduction is great! I can still hear my drums clearly, all the frequencies come through, just much quieter. This is exactly what I need.I'm not sure about the longevity/durability of this product, and how effectively they can be cleaned when they inevitably get caked up with earwax.

Used moldy earplugs. Amazon Fail!
The plugs that I received were clearly used (mushed ear shape to the material, premixed material, both containers open and unable to close due to the material's shape) wet and moldy! Yes, moldy. As in fuzzy fungus. I don't know WTF is going on with the European Amazon subsidiary, but they have some serious quality control or logistics issues. I'd say that if you even suspect that your plugs sold by Amazon (not their partners, but god only knows what those guys are getting up to) might have been used, just send them back. That goes for toothbrushes, foodstuffs, chewing gum, and probably anything else that you purchase from them. I'm going to be shopping elsewhere from now on; I only wish that I hadn't just payed for Amazon Prime!Act now and used, ear-waxy ear plug can be yours for only 25 quid! This is the most disgusting thing that I have seen all week. No, scratch that: this is the most disgusting thing that I have seen all month, and possibly all year. I've washed my hands, I want to wash out my eyeballs, and I think that I'm going to have to go to bed without dinner tonight. Ahh, I sure am glad that I used the other earplugs I bought from Amazon this weekend before looking at these...oh, wait. No, I'm not glad. I'm freaking horrified.

Really Bad Product only reduced between 4-5 Decibels not the Stated 26!
Really Bad Ear Molds, Despite following the instructions to the tee, and taking plenty of time waiting for them to mold in my ears, and then taking lots of time to make sure they were seated and re inserted in my ears i was massively dissapointed when i was only getting around 4-5 decibels of reduced sound, thats miles off the said number of 26 decibels, as a drummer and someone who attends lots of gigs, these were vital to work, and i knew they didnt work straight away, i went one concert using these and oe session behind the kit, and still ended up def for several hours, the following day i ordered some IEM's (In Ear Monitors) and they reduce way more sound than these did even more than the decibel rating on the box!, i strongly reccomend you avoid these with the plague your better off getting cheap ear plugs, or even getting yourself a set of IEM's 1/5 stars!

Good product
Worked well and I'm happy to recommend this product. I uses mine to create an in ear monitor for use in the music world. I moulded an old set of headphones into the putty and saved myself hundreds of euros in the process. I'm sure there's a market for this type of application. Good product none the less.

Molding process inaccurate. Go with proguard instead.
I ordered these since I lost a pair recently that I’ve had for years (proguard) and followed the instructions to a tee. Didn’t take shape and essentially turned to silly putty. I emailed AHEAD themselves who then sent me out a new pair and I’ve just molded them a few hours ago. This pair has taken shape but it’s been a few hours and they’re still sticky. Despite taking the recommended time to cure them. I was hoping they would be dry now so I could just put them in the bag but I don’t feel like they’ve properly worked. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t muffle the sound as well as they should either. If this is the first brand of molded earplugs you’ve come across on here, don’t just buy right away. I recommend proguard over these.
