The Adventures of a Plastic Bottle: A Story about Recycling (Little Green Books)

mixed feelings!
I have mixed feelings about this book. It is written in just the right way to grab the attention of a young person and informative in a fun way. Thats the good bit....the bit I struggle with is the positivity (my interpretation) over a "beautiful, clear plastic bottle" when we now know just how much damage plastic is doing to our environment. I appreciate that the book is a story about recycling but feel it could have found a better balance without putting plastic in such a favourable light.

So flimsy it may as well be loo roll
How is this made for kids? The pages are super thin, the binding weak... It's not going to last 2 seconds!!! I was going to donate it to a library but I doubt they'd take it it's so flimsy!!!If you're buying for toddlers or een just have a toddler in the house don't waste the money. Also the bottle gets shredded and that may upset some kids

Great little story
My Granddaughter loves this and enjoys me reading it to her, she's only 3 so it's good for her to learn about Recycling from an early age.

Well illustrated and explained
My 5 year old grand-daughter loves this book. It’s a bit too advanced for her so I tend to simplify the explanations a bit but I watched her explaining the whole process to her father the other day and she clearly had a good grasp of both the production of plastics and the recycling process. Probably well suited for 7-9 year olds to read on their own

Not what I thought
I am returning the book as although it's well written with lovely illustrations and good explanations about how plastic bottles are made, it seems to promote the idea that plastic is fantastic. I should have read the reviews first!

A fun way to explore an eco topic
I bought this book for my 8 year old daughter when her school topic was the environment and being eco friendly. It explores the life cycle of a plastic bottle in a fun way. It would be suitable for children 5-10 years.
