Lovely to use
I am learning ancient Greek so I needed a pen with a nib fine enough to allow me to form complex letters with the required accents, and this pen allows that kind of precision. On a more general note the ink flow is precise and constant, so it doesn't cause any unsightly blots or become wispy and unreadable. I can fill several A4 size pages without finding any strain or other difficulty as the pen is neither so light that it feels insubstantial or so heavy that it becomes unwieldy.Though it can be filled from an ink bottle I am using cartridges and keep the ink filler in the bag provided for the pen, they both fit with ease.So the nib is fine, the weight is fine, it writes well and is comfortable in the hand, and on top of that it looks good.I can't tell you how pleased I am with it, but I would recommend it to anyone.

I urge you to order a pen from Dryden's! You won't be disappointed!
If I could award more than five stars I definitely would! I placed my order and received a lovely email from Michael Dryden thanking me for my order - no one's ever done this before! It really made me feel valued as a customer from the outset. My pen duly arrived the next day in a lovely velvet pouch which will stop it becoming scratched in my bag. I filled the pen immediately - very easy to fill using the plunger - I'd even forgotten the joy of getting my fingers covered in ink. That took me right back to my youth when I had last used a fountain pen. The pen writes like a dream! Very smooth and precise. I've used it non-stop since I bought it and absolutely love using it. I will definitely go to Dryden's as my first stop next time I want to buy a quality fountain pen. I've been searching, literally for years, for a pen of this quality and I'm so glad I've finally found one that meets my very high expectations!

A versatile pen with some flex to the nib. Worth the money.
I didn't have great expectations for this pen given it's price, but I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised. It seems reasonably well made, though lacking some of the luxuries of more expensive pens and if used with standard cartridges, has a proclivity to leak. This is easily solved by just using the supplied piston filler. As far as writing with it goes, it does the job pretty well for a cheap, modern pen. Ink flow is generally good, only running into trouble with continued heavy flexing of the nib when using it for stuff like copperplate, though a quick turn of the piston soon remedies that. There is just enough flex to achieve noticeable line thickness variation which is nice if you're looking for that, though it does require more pressure than with a soft metal nib. Otherwise, the line thickness in normal use is what you would expect from a fine nibbed ink pen. What is nice about this pen though, is that you can write with it whilst holding it so the nib is upside down. This gives a very fine line and the ink flow remains smooth and constant without the nib digging in to the paper. This makes the pen very versatile, so whilst it isn't perfect, for the money it really is quite good.

Well done Dryden Designs
I experienced excellent service from Dryden Designs. I was intially unsure of which fountain to buy and finally opted for Dryden's. I found my fountain to be of good quality and a very good competitive price. What made this company outshine from the rest, was their aftercare service. Not that i had an issue with my pen, far from it but the company took the time to check if i was happy with my purchase. Was it good to write with - yesWas it easy to put a ink cartridge in - yesWere the instructions easy to understand when using an ink pot - yesI was so please with my blue pen that 3 weeks later i ordered the red pen.G.Hilton

Beautiful handwriting
I like the pen for everyday use. It is perfectly weighted and balanced but what I really appreciate is the fine nib. I have a number of pens with various 'medium' nibs but prefer this pen as it writes smoother than the other pens, one of which is a well known brand. This pen wrote smoothly from the first time it touched paper after it had been filled. It's safe to say that I love everything about the way this pen writes. If there has to be a negative it is that the mechanism for filling the pen feels weak. It may be because this is the first time I have come across this particular mechanism but I have been particularly careful when filling this pen, and hope this part of the pen does turn out to be as good as the rest of the pen.

Nice looking pen, poor functionality.
Pros: nice looking pen, comes with refillable cartridge.Cons: I have had so much trouble getting this pen to work. Very disappointing. I’ve had to clean the pen multiple times and tried different fountain pen inks to find which works best. The hooded nib design offers a very stylish look but also makes it more difficult to clean. I finally have it working but the ink flow is inconsistent and slow so I’ve lost patience with it now! After experiencing these problems, I went back to the Amazon product page and checked the reviews to see why I chose to buy this pen in the first place. I noticed that this Fine Nib version of the pen has not been reviewed as much as the Medium Nib version - the positive reviews upon which I based my choice - yet these Medium Nib reviews appeared alongside the Fine Nib product version. This was VERY misleading.A lesson has been learnt here on evaluating reviews, looking carefully at the details and assessing their reliability!
